Topic: Smash Bros 3DS Music Player Won't Play In Sleep Mode?

Hey everyone. I just got Smash Bros and was listening to all the good music offered in the music player section, and remembered that there's supposed to be a feature which allows you to continue to play music while the 3DS is in sleep mode. However, no matter what I do the music always cuts off when I close the lid. There's a button on the bottom screen that says play while in sleep mode, but it doesn't seem to do anything regardless of whether it's turned on or off.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Or is there something I'm missing here?

Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced

I've been having that issue too. But I've did it a couple days ago. Maybe the new system update somehow prevents it from working?

EDIT: The song continues to play, but it's muted. I put my system to sleep, wait a few seconds, and open it back up, and a few seconds have passed in the song. There must be some bug, and I think it was the system update.

You must put the player in sleep mode AND set the player to "repeat one", "repeat all" or "shuffle".

If you just leave it in the default setting it will stop playing music after the first song stops playing.

Oh, and you NEED headphones.

@Morpheel The music just cuts off, even in the middle of a song. However, the song continues to play, but no sound is outputted.

Have you tried playing music with the new system update installed?

The system update?

No. Lemme try.

[this will take some minutes]

After three songs, it's still going.

How odd. Mine refuses to work, and I restarted as well to see if that would help.

The music player does work, but I forgot a tiny tidbit....

You need headphones plugged in for it to work!

Folks, this is why you go to bed at a decent hour....

i have the same problem, it did work when i first tried it and after that it wont play and i got the game the 9th of dec. and used the feature on saturday (12/13/14) but when i tried it again the next day, well the title of the thread says it all. on note i did update the game before playing, albeit i had problems trying to update, wifi works great on the browser, miiverse, eshop and online play but when i have to download themes, dlc, updates, and games i get errors so i end up retrying until it works, wii u works fine with everything, so is my laptop but its my 3ds that has problems. nevermind, i forgot that i had tried the sleep feature with a portable speaker. lolz x9000!!
