Sapphire Dragon is the new one. I think its 6th in a series of all really the same game of Jewel Quest games. We have to have at least 30 traditional match 3 games by now. Some good like Jewel Match 3. Most the same from to another.
Yet zero basketball games. Really Double Dribble would be nice for the VC. A new NBA Jam even better. No hockey games. One Madden. How about a new NFL Blitz. Zero new Advance Wars.
Do people really buy these Jewel games all the time? I do not get the love. Puzzle Quest at least put a spin on the game.
Well, NBA jam didn't sell well in the UK, because EA decided to sell the game in one retailer, HMV. And HMV were going down hill at the time that decision was made. So yeah, blame EA's stupid decision making there.
When people make their first game for practice, it's more likely to be a match-3 game than NBA Jam. Nowadays lots of people just buy games based on the art so match-3 is quick and easy to sell.
They can't be selling too badly considering all the pokemon/puzzles and dragons match-3 games we're getting.
Tile matching games usually cost 1/100,000th of sports game and sell much better because of the broader audience. On handheld especially — most people buy handheld consoles to play this kind of games, not to play hockey. Iwata said that game Pokemon Link Battle is based on (Puzzles and Dragons was it called?) sells like hot cakes in Japan...and it's just a variation on the usual match-3 game. I have nothing against the proliferation of tile matching games, but it's a pity that the best one of all (Zoo Keeper Battle) is not on 3DS yet.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

My first game practice was a horizontal shmup. More people should do that. You can even use the same art if you'd like.
Yeah IMO they sit next to Jigsaw puzzles as the most boring puzzle type ever. Half of the challenge is sporting a set of possible matches, and that's more tedious than fun.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
I have Pokémon Battle Trozei, Pokémon Shuffle, and plan on getting the Puzzle & Dragons Z/Super Mario Bros. double pack when it launches. Been enjoying what I've played, maybe four games will be enough, maybe I'll get another if I'm interested and still enjoying the gameplay.
It's like any other genre, games will always be coming out with similar gameplay, so why bother complaining?
Daddy do you want some Sausage?

I'm now gonna buy a Match 3 game, just to spite you.
Sure, waste your money to spite someone else.
1) You really think he's serious?
2) Most match 3 games are cheap as hell. I highly doubt he'll be financially crippled in any way after couple dollars.
3) Who ever said he'd be wasting money? There's a reason there's so many of these games: People actually find them extremely fun.
I mean, I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but when I find a good one, I could play it all day.
