So due to the presence of Digital only games i am planning on getting a larger SD card couple of questions

1. How can i transfer my saved data to the new SD card

2. Will any Micro SD card work? Any recommendations

3. What size would you recommend is 16GB big enough?

Thanks

3DS can go up to 32 GB if I remember correctly. 16 sounds like it will be enough for a while.

If you plan to use the same 3DS, all you have to do is copy the main folders from the SD card onto a random folder in your computer. Next, copy those same exact folders into the new SD card. The folders should appear exactly as they were on the old SD card.

I think the 3DS uses a regular full-size SD card, not a Micro SD card. If you get a Micro SD card, I think you'll need to use an adapter.

Put your analyst on danger money, baby.

The 3DS may format the SD card and delete its contents after you insert it in your 3DS, so make sure to not delete the backup from your computer right away.

If that happens, just try again.

Yup. Copy and paste to your computer then to the new card without changing or adding anything

Also, micro-SD cards may not work. Just use a regular 16 GB one. Samdisk is probably the best option because I use those

Oh, Micros do work if you use the right adapter.

It may be safer to just use a normal SD card, though.

The thing that you have to look out for is a fact that it takes a LONG time to start up even if you had the same exact stuff in your old default 4GB SD Card. My 32GB Sandisk SD Card takes 10 seconds just to turn on the system. At first, I thought that I broke my 3DS! It's not too bad, but I wouldn't recommend a bigger SD Card if you're constantly in a rush to play games. You'll get used to it after a couple of days, so don't worry much.
