You're right, but it's better than less possibilities. It affects far more than just the graphics and I'd prefer that a game be the best it can be rather than being hindered by the hardware - even a little bit counts. The Wii missed out on great game this gen, especially on the download front, because they just missed the mark, whether it was optimizing for the power or the download limit. This is bigger than people are making it out to be, if it's true.

If with sensational you mean Hollywood like cutscenes, these are the less CPU dependant part of any game.

Okay, you got me on that one.

Well, if the rumors are true, great. More power to the developers.

But what will 25% do? It's not that significant, and at the expense of wireless capabilities?

I expect the next Pokemon games to be big, and I doubt Gamefreak will really need 25% more power considering the focus of those games are connectivity. I'm just wondering: Does the wireless functions not work if a game is using that "25%" power, or is it that it disables connectivity until activated in game? Like going to the Pokemon Center and connecting online.

I look at it this way:

If Heroes of Ruin, a game perfect for multiplayer, opted in for "more" power to look pretty rather than connectivity features such as spotpass, streetpass and online play, that would just suck. What I'm saying is that games dedicated to single player experiences, such as Skyrim and Zelda, would make the best use of the 25% power left over. My concern is developers wanting to use that power to make pretty games than say creative because it seems to me that this generation, it's more about power than creativity. That's what I'm looking at, the whole picture.

It's interesting to point out that LoZ OOT 3D "disabled" online communications when you're playing the game. You go into home menu to see that you're not "online" on your friends list and 10 seconds later, you pop up. Doesn't happen in SSFIV or Pilotwings though.

well this is true, but again, it says a lot to me despite Wiiware's hilariously bad limits that it still had the best game in an entire year with World of Goo. And since the limits on 3DS are far more reasonable, I'd like to think there are far more than enough indy developers that only need this much MORE space then the best game of 2008.

And really, even if Nintendo had the same limits as others, there would still be the obvious problems of Nintendo being less indy developer friendly compared to others. Fix that first.
