I couldn't find the original topic so I had to start a new one.
I just got the game today and gotta say, i'm not that impressed. A lot of "searching" and nasty stuff. I feel like I'm trying to find easter eggs so far. I just started. I gotta ask, does it get any better? I just want to run and gun, stuff like that. When I was shooting one creature it took my probably ten shots to kill it. What's up with that? Maybe I haven't played it enough...
LOL Resident Evil: Revelations is a great game for 3DS but I do understand what you're saying. Try shooting at the creatures limbs like the arms and legs. Those are the weak spots. The game does get better as you keep playing. The bosses are very overpowered so be prepared.
If you want a run and gun game then get Resident Evil: Mercenaries for 3DS.
Revelations harks back to the more survival-horror type gameplay of the Resident Evil series. So it's going to be much slower paced and atmospheric, and it will focus on making you feel dread rather than empowerment. And thus, probably no run-and-gun style gameplay (except for a few segments, which most reviewers felt were weirdly inserted into the game)
I would say you bought the wrong game if you're looking for fast paced action, but Raid Mode actually delivers that type of gameplay nicely. It's got some RPG elements but the shooting there is a lot more satisfying.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
Would've definitely bought this one from the eShop if Capcom would've played a fair game with European customers like with American customers, but since they tried to rob Europeans more money compared to USA with the Halloween discount, I'll keep hunting for the cartridge version.
The demo was great, I played in the past weeks and I'll be definitely getting this at some point. Need to finish three other games first.
I thought it was ok. I just wish all the RE games would be as good as REmake and 4 were on a consistent basis. There was only one fight I really liked in the game. It took me until like 3/5 through the game to figure out how the hell to dodge.
Resident Evil... Run & Gun? This is a horror game, you're supposed to feel fear not be the war machine on zombies.
However I feel after playing through Revelations again it is run & gun, the first few episodes are sneaky and scary, afterwards its all "shoot this zombie, move, shoot that zombie, finish". Even the Raid Mode is simply "kill everything". They need to take Resident Evil back to its roots so we can forget RE6 ever existed.
As others have stated Revelations is an attempt to return to previous RE games. While it doesnt go to that extent it does land itself in a certain area between 4 and 5 in terms of action and horror. If you want an action Resident Evil then your best bet is RE 5(as 6 is a heaping pile of trash), but most fans of the series wish a return to the old style of more horror (#4 being the best mix of action and horror)

I would had enough if Capcom would discount both regions equally :c I was missing around $5 :L

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate The metrologgery
So you've never played the original games, Revelations was Capcom's attempt to go back to the original RE games (which had survival horror, puzzle solving, exploration, and item management). People were complaining about how RE games aren't RE evil anymore so this game was made if you want a shooter you should try something else.
The cat's the only cat who knows where it's at.

@mamp but the raid mode really works for those "I want to run and gun like mad!" moments.

Hmm... I forgot about this one! I think I still want this game, I greatly enjoyed the demo! The graphics are pretty awesome, and it's really fun shooting down monsters and such. Horror games can be pretty awesome! ...so, is the rest of the game similar to the demo? If so, I think I'll go for it.
@Gioku mostly except some action sections and the fact the demo starts completely scrambled both in map and story

@GuSilverFlame: yeah, okay. I was just wondering if the gameplay is the same as the demo in the rest of the game (the kind of slow-paced, exploration sort of deal). I like the knife, too. I don't think I'd mind some action segments. I think I'll go with the download version, then; since it's only $19.99! Sounds like it has some good challenge later on, too. I guess I'm convinced! Imma go for it.
@Nintendofan134 they say the hardest thing possible in it is beating the game without using herbs or infinite Rocket Launcher(you can't get it without finishing the game, though) to complete a mission even if it's in normal mode.
@Gioku I'd get the Download version too if I didn't get it trading with my cousin. he gave me RE:Revelations and I gave him Pokémon Dash best trade ever!(and all thanks to the fact he's too young to play Resident Evil XD )
