Topic: Recommended case for a 'new' 3DS XL?

Hello, can anyone recommend a good (but affordable) case for the "new" model Nintendo 3DS XL? I've found a few original 3DS XL cases on Ebay (i.e link [1]) and in my local area for cheap, but I have no idea if the new one will fit or not.

From what I read it depends whether the case is a tight fit for the original 3DS XL, as the "new" model is only bigger by a few millimetres at "a closed height of 3.68” (93.5 mm)" [2]

Since the Hori cases were discontinued, I got this for my niece last winter, and it's nice. Although it's a thicker case, big enough to hold a charger. If you want a slim case, I'm not sure what to recommend. I just looked and the ones I used to see gone. I'm surprised AmazonBasics new 3ds xl case was discontinuted. It was similar to the Hori case.

This company BUBM makes nice cases. Not a slim case, though.

Thanks for the reply! Good finds. From those links I'll most likely be getting the Orzly or BUBM case (BRENDO's not available in Canada), though do you happen to know if a console with a protective shell will fit in either? Now that I think about it, it's probably a good idea to get one in addition to the case, just to be safe.

Speaking of which, would you recommend a soft or hard shell? (I'm new to all this.)

@Sn0wgl0be If my New 3DS XL had one of those clip-on protective cases, it would not fit in my slim Nintendo licensed Hori case. I think most companies that made travel cases designed their cases to fit the 3DS without the extra clip-on shell. I think the 3ds accessories market may be designed for one or the other, not both. Either you use the clip-on shell for protection, or you keep the 3ds in a travel case. I'm not saying having both is a bad idea, but I think the accessories market may make you pick on or the other.

I keep my 3ds in a travel case when I'm not playing or charging it. So, I didn't get a clip-on shell. This choice will come down to your preference.

Here's the Japanese Hori Tough Pouch. The packaging is japanese, but the case will be the case that came to US/Canada. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HORI-3DS-216-Slim-Hard-Pouch-for-NEW...

I got, Hori Tough Pouch(Nintendo licensed), but those were discontinued. I got mine from ebay in 2017, because I couldn't find them at stores. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81Vjy7aWbTL....
