Depending on how faithful the port is (it doesn't have the best pedigree, considering the DS port of the same game), this might become my one and only must-have launch title. I also kind-of want Monkey Ball, but I have so many iterations of that game already that I think I just need to call it a day and let it go. I never had the opportunity to play this game earlier, except possibly for a brief stint on the N64 version, so I'm looking forward to check it out. Finally.
Ugh...Just played the DS version again and watched some Dreamcast videos and now I'm putting this one back on the possible list again due to forgetting how much fun it was. Great...Still can't decide on the 3rd game to purchase. I'm stuck between This, Monkey Ball, Nintendogs, Steel Diver, and Madden...I'm so confused and these embargoes for reviews aren't helping.

Ugh, Madden? You're actually considering that? D:
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
@Tj92 I like football...Is there something wrong with that? I'm only considering it ,though, if the rosters update for the next season. Of the games I listed I'm really think of getting Monkey Ball or Nintendogs. I need to see some more reviews and videos of Rayman before making a decisive decision on whether or not it is worth putting on to my list of games that I'm really considering.
Rayman DS scored a 6 I believe back then from IGN. Only thing holding it back was the controls and the 'muddy' graphics (seriously, it's DARK). I'm sure this version is loads better than the DS.
I cant imagine it live up to all hype? Dreamcast one was amazing at time but unisoft have great way creating dull games! lets behonest there launch titles been getting nothing but bad reviews. Apart from ghost recon shadow wars which nintendo magazine gave it 80%. I red that 3D made game look fuzzy and doesnt add anything amazing to package as whole just other lazy port to make quick buck! Ill have look for article again am sure ngamer said it but cant remember now soz:-(
Well, the way i see it is that if you have NEVER, EVER, EVER played rayman 2(which 99.9999percent of the gaming poupulation has) Then you should get it.

I just think people stopped caring about rayman 2. I mean it's been out for like,12 years. A direct port of it is not even relevant today.

I have to pretty much agree with the Metro review. The game definitely feels dated and the 3D effects are little more than a gimmick. I'm still not very far in, but I've not noticed any real technical issues.. the frame rate seems fine and and the gameplay is solid enough. It's definitely not the "Mario 64" launch title, it's very clear they wanted to release a game like this for the system but couldn't be bothered making a new one.
It's a lazy effort and the game does feel like a PS2/Dreamcast game but there's nothing outstandingly bad, like some of the previews were implying.
