Hi, I just recently bought a 2DS and was looking to buy a a 2DS XL. I found one on eBay that comes with 28 games on the system. It is listed as new and that the seller only opened the box to put the games on it. My question is should I buy this and is it possible to keep all the games on it? I'm new to the DS system but I didn't think that digital games could be put on the system and sold. Thanks for any help you can give me! - Scott

Sounds sketchy.

Anyway, yes you could technically buy a system, add games, and then sell it. But why? What's the point? Good digital games are not cheap. Unless it's hacked, but then you're buying a hacked system with pirated games on it, which some people like to avoid.

In the case you have already purchased digital content, then I'd recommend not buying used consoles with games in them. You can't merge nintendo accounts so you'd lose the games upon transferring your account to the new console.

Thanks for the insight! It definitely seems too good to be true - the guy said that he only opened the box to put all of the games on it. He's asking $232 for the 2DS XL and around 30 games installed. There is a lot of Pokémon, which I'm not into but he has several Mario and Luigi games, which is hard to believe since some of them are $40 each. Thanks again.

Sounds like a scam to me.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Well if he bought digital games that means he's linked to an account, which means you wouldn't be able to create your own and any money you use afterwards is linked to his account and not yours. I'd recommend just buying a 2DS XL from a retailer. As a side note, on Amazon the Pikachu edition and poke ball edition 2ds xl are discontinued. And I bought my 2DS XL for $129.99 on Amazon.
