Does anyone else think that some other pokemon like Farfetch'd, Dunsparce, and Corsola needed mega evolutions more than some of the pokemon who got them?
More like evolutions period, especially for poor Dunsparce. Also Mega Evolutions for the most part are only given to popular, and often already powerful Pokemon.
Only pokemon such as Absol, Banette, and Mawile needed them.
Heck, the reason why no Kalos Pokemon have Mega forms is so that Game Freak can gauge which ones are favorites among the fans. Which probably means Aegislash is going to get ungodly strong later...
To be perfectly honest, I both love and hate Mega Evolution. On one hand it's giving old favorites new blood, but on the other it's unbelievable how unfair the system works. Besides making powerhouses even more over-the-top, which could be a conversation all in itself, the choices in which Pokemon got the Mega treatment annoys me a lot. Like the Kanto starters all have the feature, but besides Blaziken none of the others do. Plus, Charizard, who's already beyond overrated, got two Mega Evolutions! Sure Mewtwo got two forms as well, but at least it lives up to the hype, is a legendary so won't be in competitive scenes, and "two" is in the name to begin with so it fits at least.

@Electricmastro The idea to give Mega Evolutions to Pokemon based on looks and popularity was an incredibly stupid decision to begin with, they should be using it for balance first, then everything else second. And yeah, stuff like Farfetch'd and Luvdisc do need actual evolutions first, their stats are just all around terrible and they need drastic improvements in order for them to be remotely good. Dunsparce might be able to get away with just a Mega Evolution, though.

I have no idea what gf was trying to accomplish with dunsparce

I don't even care if Dunsparce gets ANY kind of evolution at this point... I just want them to make it fairy and bug or ground type. Also, anyone else notice how so many people want weak stage 1 pokemon to get a mega evolution, yet if they were to get a mega form, that would eliminate all chances of them getting an ACTUAL evolution? Like if Luvdisc got a mega form and game freak later gave it a real evolution, then the mega stone would be pointless as you could just evolve it permanently.

Dunsparce is a Pokemon with so much potential. Its name literally means stupid and withered. The way I see it it could evolve into the opposite and become a wise, bountiful creature. Not to mention its basically a flying snake from Japanese legend so it could have big wings. Think a serpentine dragon with feathered wings.

Which is why it's important that the weaker ones get actual evolutions first. It wouldn't be wise to completely eliminate cross gen evos at this point.
wow game chat is sure useful. like a cellphone made just for Pokémon players but requires wifi. I like chatting with my cousin every once in a while.

Having no evolutions does not make a pokemon inherently weaker, many of them with no evolutions need no evolutions, they fit into roles well as they are. Thus adding a mega evo to Dunsparce would not be a bad idea, but meh.
My biggest complaint is that there are not enough signature moves now, most of the old ones have become common moves. Give every species a signature move and it would seriously help make many of them more viable, even those with small BST, bad typing, and lacking any useful moves .... like Luvdisc.
Friend list is full, I will be clearing room for Bravely Default soon though. Colors! 3D Gallery, My Blog
NNID: KittenKoder ..... what else would it be?
if GameFreak really wanted to balance the game every Pokémon would be a Slaking it's too strong but with an ability that makes it weak you've got to use your brain and never play with it on single battles for it to be useful
or maybe Azumarill, almost useless but when it has Huge Power it becomes pretty awesome

Azumaril had Huge Power since 3rd gen, even had Belly Drum in 2nd Gen. If it wasn't for 5th gen, that gave Azumaril Aqua Jet, that is where it became more powerful. Then 6th came and made Azumaril fairy, now it's even more powerful.
Azumaril always been strong, just no one use it, until this gen, and now it's everywhere.
As for Dunsparce, it's just a weaker version of Togekiss, but can be just as deadly with Glare + RockSlide/Headbutt, makes them flinch every time, and it even knows coil.

well even though I never mentioned Huge Power in Azumarill as a new thing you read right through my thoughts... but the fairy type only helped it against dragon, now steel does normal damage and it got a new weakness so it is pretty much weaker than before.... if you don't count the 3 new resistances but all of them can be easily bypassed by having a decent moveset.

Here's something that a lot of you might not know.
Those markings that you put on your pokemon are for IVs Circle = HP Triangle = Attack Square = Defense Heart = SpAtt Star = SpDef Diamond = Speed
It is to help you keep track of which pokemon had perfect IVs, I mostly been using it to mark which pokemon fits better with an other on my team.
