Hehe, I once had this really funny rotation battle with a friend.
He sat in such a way that I could see his touch screen perfectly, and since he was concentrated having the hardest battle of his life, he never noticed.
He ended up really freaked out until I told him. Then he was just mad.
@Haru17 but why do people think they will remove Megas then? If they don't remove mechanics, then why would they remove one of the most popular additions to the series?
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@DarthNocturnal I just think the Battle Machanics wouldn't be removed. The competitive side of Pokemon is something I don't think they would want to take away from. Things outside of battle are fair game, since that is just progression/teaching for the battle mechanics.
EDIT: A lack of information does not suggest they are removing Mega Evolutions, just that they aren't the focus. wasn't there an interview somewhere that said there would be less new Pokemon this generation since there would be more Megas?
I don't have any idea why people are talking about removing megas. That's not going to happen. I think it's likely that there won't be any new mega evolutions, but that's obviously different from "removing" them.
@Haru17 It's just weird that they're completely avoiding them. There's definitely a deliberate reason for them doing that, but why exactly is anyone's guess. And since "removing megas" is the simplest answer, I think people tend to latch on to that idea.
It's possible they don't want to show it off to prevent people from excited about them. Like if for example, you don't get megas until after you beat the game. But again, it's pretty much superstition at this point.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
It's not weird at all that they're not marketing megas. They're marketing a new game, mega evolution isn't new—they're obviously going to market the new stuff.
@DefHalan Pokemon never removes, that is why it is unsustainable.
I'm not sure how serious this post is, but there's definitely truth in this. There's a reason why they opt for reusing the same 3D models from XY and ORAS in SM. As the games get bigger with each iteration, there will be a time when there's simply too much.
We don't know what the question was. It could been something like: ''Last generation we only got 70-something new Pokemon, will this gen have fewer Pokemon again?'' I'm not saying that Mega evolutions are gone, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were.
@Octane I'm deadly serious. Most of XY was just creating 700 unique 3D pokemon models (and then the entire rest of the game).
Eventually they'll have to create a pokemon platform / MMO that they can just add to with new updates, and release singleplayer games with a more paired-down selection of pokemon.
Not sure if reverse battles were removed in ORAS but the last time I could remember reverse battles being relevant was during an official competition last year, I think. Such an underrated feature which I guess would only possibly be usable in the new global link battle lists.
3DS games:
Mario Kart 7
Zelda OoT 3D
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
Pokemon Black FC: 2666 2484 8599
Kid Icarus Uprising
Heroes of Ruin
and more.
Crime doesn't pay, unless you are really good at it then those who are legal criminals ...
@Haru17 That's one of the reasons why I think that Mega Evolution may not be in the newer games. If they have Mega Evolutions, Z-moves, Alola forms, whatever they introduce next gen, and the gen after that, Pokemon fusions, more, more and more. I can't go on like that. That's why I think that Mega Evolutions and Z-moves may be one of the solutions to keep things fresh; Generational gimmicks. They are specific moves or Pokemon that change the metagame, but they can also be ditched easily. Just don't include the Mega stones or Z-crystals or whatever and you don't have to worry about them. From a development perspective, that would make sense. Of course, then there's also the ever growing number of unique Pokemon in general that will cause problems at some point.
