Not that anyone cares, but meh, these are still growing on me slowly. Like I said Vikavolt is the only one I like. Tapukoko, Cutiefly, Charjabug are all alright. Togedemaru is bland and boring, but it's at least cute that it spikes up and rolls like a ball. Drampa and Bruxish are still ugliest Pokes I've ever seen
At least I have seen people who like each one, even the ugly ones. So, I guess they can't be all that terrible if some people like them. I only hope the names will be changed as some are pretty odd.
I've also noticed an increase in dual Fairy type combinations. Hopefully we see more since I love Fairy types!
The four guardians will most likely be part Electric, Water, Fire and Grass as the island names are confirmed to represent Yellow, Blue, Red, and Green like the original gen 1 games. The guardians will probably give a nod to the original starters in some way, and seing as the first one revealed is confirmed to be Electric type, it is not too farfetched to assume this theory is right.
They might also introduce new Terrain moves to give to the Fire and Water type, or they might just give them Drought and Drizzle.

That's interesting, I just read the point that MeleMele can translate to 'Yellow', and given that it has the Electric type as its guardian deity, the theory would seem to hold water (and apparently also grass and fire). However, I can't seem to find anywhere that officially confirms the other island names, there's just (what I think to be very reasonable) speculation that they will translate to Red, Blue and Green (apparently, UlaUla, Pomu, and OlaOla respectively).
Could you provide a link to somewhere that confirms more island names than just MeleMele?
So far I've liked the new designs, but overall this new batch is kinda meh.
Drampa - Not a terrible design, but hopefully it evolves or something. Also, how is there a Normal/Dragon type? Wouldn't it just be a Dragon type? Charjabug - Kinda meh, see the next entry. Vikavolt - NOW we're talking. This is my favorite from this new batch of info, and will likely be on my pre-Elite Four team if no other electric types catch my eye. Togedemaru - Gen 7's obligatory Pikachu clone. Kinda meh, but at least it's A. Steel/Electric and B. cute. Cutiefly - Brownie points for being, well, cute at least. Bruxish - Is this what happens when you breed Feebas with Alomomola? Or incorrectly give Feebas the beauty treatment for contests? I absolutely hate this design. Definitely my least favorite Sun/Moon design so far. Tapu Koko - I thought it was kinda weird-looking at first, by the design has grown on me. Probably my second favorite from this batch.
I'm sort of hoping for English names to be revealed for Iwanko and Nekkoala soon.
@Maxz I think I might have been mistaken. I can't seem to find the source on the island names, so I probably just remembered wrong. I do remember hearing about those island names you mentioned, but that might just have been in a speculation discussion or something.
So in the official Japanese trailer, you see Tapu Koko and Bruxish face off against Pokemon known to Mega Evolve (Slowbro and Kangaskhan). The other Pokemon shown in that trailer are Fearow, Dragonite, Milotic, and Flygon. Could they perhaps be hinting at those four receiving Mega Evolutions?
Edit: Also, someone already made a Togedemaru plush
@IceClimbers Well it could be pure coincidence, but I also remember Salamence in battle when the Legendaries are revealed.
Although of course we dont even know if Mega Evolutions will return or be replaced by something new, but I would love to see Megas for those Pokemon. Especially Fearow, a 'mon that I always sort of liked but never seemed to be any popular.
@FriedSquid I strongly doubt they'd get rid of Mega Evolution, even if they are introducing Synchro. I believe they dropped similar hints in the XY/ORAS trailers iirc.
In the scene were Hala is standing on the platform ( right before tapu koko descends ) I think you can spot 2 new pokemons directly on the right and then on Halas right. Correct me if I'm wrong
MASSIVE SPLATOON PLAYER , LOVE POKEMON, FIRE EMBLEM AND BAYONETTA SERIES .
ADD ME ON WII U : MEGAPOKEPAUL
Riding Pokémon is back! The official site has released a screenshot of the trainer riding a Stoutland. The trainer is wearing a helmet, could this be some sort of racing mini-game?
EDIT 1: Zygarde cells can apparently be found all over the Alola region, might this hint on a collection aspect where we need to find all the cells to encounter and use Zygarde?
EDIT 2: The Japanese site confirms that Pichu and Pikachu are number 24 and 25 in the Alola dex, which means we might have even more Pokémon on each route than we had in X and Y. Confirmed Pokémon for the first route so far are Grubbin, Pikipek, Pichu, Pikachu, Ledyba and Yungoos. Considering we still have spots to be filled in the Dex it is safe to assume that the route has at least two more encounters, leaving it with two more encounters than we had on Route 2 in X and Y or one more if one of the encounters is version exclusive.
EDIT 3: The Japanese site also confirms that Zubat, Psyduck and Riolu are in the game.
Tapu Koko's signature move is now basically superfang, halves your HP.
This could be a good mon as a tank killer. It has a lot of utility... immunity to sleep, basically adaptability on electric type moves, can ignore stat changes and delete 50% of your HP then chunk the rest off with moves when they get too low. I feel like this mon would be very strong and viable. The only thing that would tell us is the stats, if it has flat 100 in all of them or even atleast the same stats as rotom base, it could be pretty good. That speed stat is going to be the major concern.. even if it gets a setup move it can make up for offenses.
Idk if it's a special attacker though... the new move looks like a physical attack and I don't think a special attacker's signature move would be physical if that were the case..
