On the topic of moves Dragonite can't learn...doesn't Lance have a Dragonite that has a move he can't learn in Gen 1?

Kind of an odd question but, has anyone who has watched all or most of the old Pokemon episode ever seen Team Rocket (Jesse and James) crossdress? Just curious.

James has a few times but I can't specificly remember Jesse cross dressing, it has been awhile since I've watched it though. It normally happens when they are in disguise and trying to steal something.

I haven't seen since it first aired but I read there was specifically one "banned" episode about it.

Those gen 1 Pokemon have such limited STAB movesets I'm thinking of going for a Tentacool (to Tentacruel).

In the older episodes they both used to cross dress quite regularly. With matching themes and all.

But most people only remember James, because, well, he did it more often (both rockets usually choose to disguise a girls), and people don't really care when females use typically male outfits.

Anyway... Only 10 Pokemon left to complete the pokedex!...

So it was to disguise themselves. Okay.

But other than that, does the show (then and now) have good morals and teach good?

Yup, animal cruelty and slavery are both great morals

I know some might find this weird but my wife and I still watch the Pokemon show, old and new episodes. Mostly we keep it on when we are doing other things or when it is late and night and don't want to watch something that requires too much thought.

It is normally about friendship and not giving up on your goals, even after you failed. It is a pretty good watch.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

The older anime episodes got censored / banned more frequently, I noticed. Around Johto, things seemed to smooth out, and the only episodes that never see the light of day are episodes with content that might fall under "too soon" conditions.

Serebii has a list of the banned episodes. There are a couple of newer episodes that have been censored due to how they would probably be viewed with distaste, so haven't aired anywhere including Japan (ex. earthquakes).

I recall wondering how Ash got all of those Tauros in the anime as a kid. Now I know. XD

Now if only they'd let Porygon out. Two evolutions across 4 gens, but he was only a "blink and you'll miss it" cameo in one of the movies.

I think by Season 2-3, the producers were more-or-less aware of the sort of content to excise for American audiences (ugh). And I remember eagerly anticipating Porygon's anime debut back in the day. I had no idea about the Electric Soldier Porygon disaster at the time, and I was really disappointed that I never got to hear its voice or see how it behaves etc. I love, love, love the Porygon family, and Porygon2 is one of my favourite Pokémon. In Gen V, I trained an eviolite Porygon2 and a Porygon-Z. The first time I've level 100ed an unevolved Pokémon. Skiddo and Chansey are likely to be next (I HATE Gogoat, but love Skiddo).

Porygon did nothing wrong.

Gogoat was probably my favorite Gen 6. I had to look up my Grant kept killing it with SE Take Down.
(that was rather Smogon for a Gym 2 leader. And yet I pushed over the Gym 8 leader as he suggested. Too bad we're not getting a Z to fix the difficulty curve.)

Welp, my file is currently stuck in time until I can trade with my friend.

I've obtained all the Pokemon I can by myself (with the exception of 2: omastar because we plan to trade the unevolved fossils, then trade them back fully evolved, and mewtwo which I want to save for last), and some more thanks to a prior trading session.

I hope we can trade soon... I might end up buying Yellow just to kill time (too bad you can't trade between games in the same system, or I'd get Red instead).

Question: How do you put pokemon from RBY into Pokemon Bank? Because I really want to transfer Missingno.

It's very likely they'll block Missingno. I've heard they blocked legendaries before they could tell were not obtained in official means.
Maybe Mew as well since there's no officially-supported way to get it in Gen 1 VC.

KingMike

I'm not aware of that, unless they haven't announced it yet. I thought the deal was "buy RGBY on VC, get a gen 6 Mew code". I think I actually have one such code (for JP consoles). I'd like to share than have it go to waste if possible but I'm not sure where to do it.

Trading thread would be the best option.

Already played Red and FireRed/LeafGreen. Do you guys think it's still worth picking up Yellow? I'm still on the fence about it.

If you don't mind the more basic gameplay of gen 1 and you're a fan of the anime it may be worth a punt.

Ah my bad, a punt is a (British?) gambling term when you're not 100% convinced by something winning so you make a small bet rather than backing it hard.

@arronishere Ah, punt here is an American football term for kicking the ball.

Dang ol language barriers man.

Well, if Charlie Brown has taught me anything, kicking an american football ball is also a game of chance.
