This faq confirmed what I've been saying since pokemon bank was announced your pokemon would be tied to your system and would be treated just like your digital games download where you have no guarantee you can recover them if your system is lost or stolen, and if your system stop working you depend on Nintendo tech support....... Now then, what exactly is the point of the Pokemon Bank, its not offering anything at all that internal storage can offer... yes you need to transfer Pokemon between games but that's a limitation Nintendo imposed to force people to get the bank not really the reason you are supposed to get it. You are supposed to get it for cloud storage but cloud storage is pointless if its tied to your system, sure you get extra storage, but really with a 32 GB memory card you should be able to storage as many pokemon as you need physically.

Some people still has that 2/4 GB SD card that was included with the 3DS(XL) and most people don't have 32 but around 16 GB SD cards
Currently playing:
Pokemon X
Bravely Default
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate The metrologgery
I'm not using it, simply because I'll only use my boxes for one of each Pokémon, and doubles of only a few. So I don't really need extra storage once I move my stuff onto a new 16GB SD Card and start using that.
However, if they do manage to set it up to work with the next gen of games and on, so that it permanently replaces the awful transfer systems we've had for the last two gens, then I'll be all over it. As it is now though, I only see myself using it to transfer my old Pokémon over again and never using it afterwards. I mean, heck... I already have a legitimate Celebi from HGSS.
It's worth it to keep all your Pokemon from all your games in one place, and to organise them as organising the PC was always one of the best parts of the old games. At the end of the day it's £4.49 for a year, I would pay that for Celebi alone to be honest. As for the system tie, I'm not going to get another 3DS as my XL is perfect so that doesn't bother me.
If you lose your console and call Nintendo they transfer all your games over to your new console anyway so I don't see why they wouldn't with this.
Finally, in the future when a new handheld comes out, they might update it to tie it to your account instead of console so you can transfer your collection to the next gen handheld. This is an annual subscription service which hints it will last a long time, which hints a lot of updates and growth.
An warning for everyone, it is an separate application which mean you have to quit Pokemon X or Y to transfer your Pokemon by opening up Pokemon Bank. Also you cannot store items into Pokemon Bank so don't expect starting over to get million master balls.
Wait, so it's a cloud, that only works when connected to the Internet, that is tied to your 3DS? Why even have servers in the first place? Why not just have it as an applicaion that can be used anywhere? What the heck?

Nintendo like to do things like that. Think of your Nintendo 3DS as an ID for login into your Pokemon Bank account. According to Nintendo, the point of having Pokemon Bank so that if you lost your game (not your 3DS) and you always have your Pokemon on your Pokemon Bank. Remember you can have unlimited Pokemon X or Y account for one Pokemon Bank account except its must be on the same 3DS. I guess the next Pokemon game going support Pokemon Bank.
Celebi renders it getting a use for the free trail. As a whole its pretty damn pointless since just like NNID it seems that Nintendo functionality understand the purpose of the Cloud as it pertains to mobile computing.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.

That was exactly my point, I'm honestly surprised so many people disagree,
