What do u think it is, it's probably the successor to the 3DS rather than Wii U since the Wii U is the more recently released system. I know i made a thread quite some time ago about this, but i think the next portable system should be an HD DS (probably call it "HDS") and someone mentioned it's a good idea to have optional 3D visuals. I think that be good since it be a DS system with HD visuals, a touch screen, and other DS features. The option to have 3D visuals would be good since Nintendo don't feel obligated to incorporate it in their newer games and allow backwards compatibility with DS and 3DS games.
isn't this the same site that started spreading the Pokémon Plus and Minus rumors? and even if it didn't start it did a good job spreading them...
I don't belive this... even if it was from a site I trust, the source is really doubtful. it's the internet, anyone can come around a forum and say "hey I work at insert company here and they're making the insert something here" without sounding fake.

Pretty sure every hardware manufacturer starts work on their next system as soon as they've shipped the current one. I bet the 3DS successor is well into development by now, and the next home console will be in the planning stages.
Nintendo has most likely already started thinking about both the 3DS successor & the WiiU successor. They're constantly developing and researching new hardware.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again
Of course they're working on their next system. So is Sony & Microsoft.
They don't just drop everything after a new console release, they're always working on the next thing.
This is just a lame attempt at getting traffic to their webpage.

exactly, as far as people know Nintendo might have been making the next handheld since 2011(when the 3DS came out)
no one knows but if they've really started making the new system only in 2013 the 3DS came to last because that's too late....
and I hope it's not an HDS that'd be too disappointing I hope for something new and creative(or at least a little more than just adding HD, better CPU, more RAM and such)

As any Nintendo fan as seen with the Wii U, HD greatly lengthens development cycles and balloons budgets. Games take longer and cost more to make. And on a 5" screen, the payoff just isn't there. At that size, you would barely even be able to tell the difference between 540p and full HD, but games would be so much easier and cheaper to produce. The Vita is 540p and looks fantastic.

Nintendo is always working on a new system, however, when said systems are released is never too soon after the previous. This is a truly unimportant rumor, it's basically stating the obvious. Though it is possible they will release various incarnations of the current portable system, I highly doubt they will invest much into the Wii U until Nintendo can make the platform more profitable. One I hope for is a 3DS with a higher capacity, both onboard and SD card memory. Encourage us to download more stuff.
As to HD, I concur with @CaviarMeths .... it would be a huge waste of resources to even bother with such a thing. Most modern games are still not embracing HD, and for the reasons stated, many of those reasons should be obvious to anyone who has worked with multimedia.
Friend list is full, I will be clearing room for Bravely Default soon though. Colors! 3D Gallery, My Blog
NNID: KittenKoder ..... what else would it be?
Designing, prototyping things like new handhelds takes years, so yeah its quite normal Nintendo is already working on the 3DS successor. That does not mean it will launch the next years. When do you think the 3DS was designed and finalized 2010? Probably started way back in 2008. I don't expect it to launch anytime soon.
The 3DS is the most successful thing Nintendo has done after the original Wii, they are not going to shoot themselves in the foot by launching the 3DS successor two years after it has launched.
Do you mean the most successful thing since the Wii? In which case there's only been the 3DS and Wii U. People are getting carried away by how the 3DS is outselling the Vita, or outselling the Wii U, but it's far from being a Wii/DS type success. At the rate it's going, it will end up selling less than the DS, the PSP, and the GBA, so I don't think the idea of a successor coming within 2 years it's crazy. It's about to hit three years old already.
They should be working on a successor to both. Consoles only last around 5 years. It takes time to make a new console, so if 3DS-2 comes out in 2016 then they should be working on it now. According to Wikipedia, the Wii U was first thought of in 2008, so if it takes 4 years, they should start work almost as soon as their current console launches.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
Meh. When details about what the console is, or (even more important) when it's going to get released, are available this might mean something. Right now it's pretty much useless info.
