I brought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles danger of the ooze for my 6 year old and he’s really enjoying it but it won’t save! When we get to the saving station we are pressing the down key and it states saving but when he dies it goes all the way back to the start. It’s that normal or are we doing something wrong?

I thought it was secret of the ooze. I should know i was there. Are we talking about a game cause I've never heard of a game based on that movie. Woah that's actually not a bad idea!

It's based on the nickelodeon cartoon, it's not connected to the 30 year old movie.

@Kateknight93 Two possibilities come to mind.

Most likely, It could be the game is working as designed. The save checkpoint may only be saving the XP points & collectables, but still make you restart the level over from the beginning. In gameplay footage, I see XP point accumulation in the lower right corner of the screen. Accumulating XP (experience points) works toward unlocking new weapons or more powerful attacks. If you struggle to get through a level, replaying the level can keep building up XP to unlock more powerful attacks/weapons that can make it easier to beat the level. Some games do this so younger or new gamers can still get through the games

Unlikely, but possible in rare occasions, game save data could be corrupted. If a kid removes the game cartridge while the game is on, it's possible to corrupt the game's save file. As a last resort solution for this, you could try starting over with a brand new game, which creates a fresh new game save file. (this can delete all previous game progress)
