Topic: New 2DS XL Issues

I've been having problems ever since I transfered the Data over from my old 3ds xl to my new 2ds xl, but recently it would appear I've made a grave error.
In order to access the menu theme stuff like changing how it looks with the different themes, it informed me that some download able content was corrupt and that I needed to go in to settings - downloadable content, and delete the corrupt stuff, which was all labeled "?" And used up 0 blocks each, so I got to deleting things. Then one of them was taking a long time to delete so after a while I forcefully closed down the DS out of impatience clearly, and when I tried to load up my DS again all of my icons, tabs, literally everything was missing. And if I try opening the folder holding any of my games it'll freeze, if I try opening the settings to get into the theme settings it will also freeze. Clearly I messed up but I don't know how to correct this, any advice?

You might need to format the SD card

Sounds like a "Factory Reset" is an option, but I'm not sure if you can only do that through the settings, which you can't access?

I'm thinking a reset, which kinda sucks because I just downloaded some DLC for Fire Emblem Fates and was really getting into it. But yeah I can't access anything as long as the SD card is in, I just took it out and was able to go into settings etc. But that means I can't even back up my save files which is a pretty big annoyance, but it serves me right for meddling.

If im going to format a micro SD card, I'll probably need an adapter to a PC or something right?

Yes, most likely. Hopefully a simple format helps, instead of having to reset the entire console.
