Topic: n3DS vs n3DS XL. What would you choose?

So I'm in possession of an n3DS (Black Edition) that I got from the Black Friday sale and will be in possession of an n3DS XL. I initially went after the n3DS units because of the attractive price of $99, the sleekness of the cover plates, and those face button colors! Problem is, I have been spoiled with having an o3DS XL, and immediately saw just how small the screens are on the n3DS, the overall dimensions of the unit, and even the stylus is small, not even adjustable. I initially upgraded from an OG 3DS to an XL long ago because of my big hands, so going back down in size makes me unsure of whether to keep it. While it's still a little bigger than the OG 3DS, it's still small by comparison. If I had the time and chance, I could test the n3DS to see if it would cramp my hands, but unfortunately I don't, as I'd be returning the n3DS should I choose the n3DS XL, and want to leave it in good condition.

Anyways, so I took advantage of Amazon doing a price-match on Target's Sunday/Monday sale, so I ordered an n3DS XL for $170. As far as playability goes, it'll be like I were playing on my o3DS XL, except I get the benefit of the improvements that having an n3DS brings. Problem is that if I kept that, I'd likely be returning/selling the n3DS, which is considered a limited edition, and has many positives of its own. The n3DS XL is plain black.

I'm just really unsure about which I'd want to keep. I already know the XL will fit well with my hands, whereas the n3DS I'm unsure. The n3DS, however, is just a neater item to have, what with the cover plates, buttons, and could fit in my pocket if I normally were to put one in there. I'm sure adjusting to the smaller screen size could be manageable, but I dunno about everything else.

If you were in my shoes, with the big hands and being spoiled by an o3DS XL, but had experience with an n3DS (non-XL), what would you choose? I can't really choose both, because of money, plus I have no real use for more than one (as I do plan to sell my o3DS XL).

Personally I'd keep both, but I know you said you can't. It all boils down to what matters more; cosmetics (appearances) or how do I say it quality? Idk anyway... I'd choose the XL most definitely, I have one and I don't regret it. In fact I still have my old 3ds in midgnight purple, 3ds xl pink with white, a 2ds sea foam green with white, and lastly a new 3ds xl in black. I don't think I could ever sell any of them, I actually use them all for different games and when ones battery goes down and needs charged, I just grab another one. In fact I plan to look into getting even more. $100-200 isn't hard to come by.

I would go with the XL. I play mine a lot so having the extra real estate for screen and hands is a huge plus for me. I do dread caring it around for Streetpasses though. I normally have to hand it over to the Mrs. so she can store it in her purse when we are out because it is so huge for my pockets.

I prefer the New 3DS over the XL, but for the opposite reasons to you - my hands aren't that big so the XL is too much for me, plus I prefer the more portable aspect of the new 3DS, plus it has better pixel density than the XL.

In your case, I think you would be better with the XL. It sounds as you are comfortable with it to play, which is a pretty big point when you get a console

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I've had both to play around with while I decide and it's so hard to pick one, I love the face plates and compact size of the small one and the screen sharpness is great but I have now decided to stick with the XL's, I had some cramping with the small one. I think the bigger screen helps because you can hold the 3DS further away for a better 3D affect in my opinion.

Either way I'm sure you will be happy they are both awesome!!
