But I've only played MHT so, yeah I can't really say.
I don't think your the correct person to make that judgement.

Doesn't mean I can't look up the other games though does it? Also Zez, who seems to know a fair bit about MH, has already stated that most MH games have quite a lot of monsters which bring along more weapons and armors. MH3 only has about 30-40 monsters, reducing the amount of content compared to the other games in the franchise.
@WaltzElf How was it the best to date? It had new monsters and underwater fighting which made it a little stronger compared to the others, I'll give it that. But the underwater fighting was quite fiddly and the controls felt a little lose to me compared to fighting on land, but they did very well to imitate fighting under water, but the controls were too annoying for me.
The new underwater bosses were pretty good, but some of them shared the exact same moves. For example, Lagiacrus and Agnaktor.
Simply: It's a great game with new underwater fighting and new bosses for the water areas but it does not look like the best of the MH franchise to me. And I know the rest of you will have a different viewpoint on this.
Currently playing: 3DS: KI: Uprising Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles "Heh, heh... Thanks... You're nice. Umm... Can I ask... a question? Your friends... What kind of... people are they? I wonder... Do these people... think of you...as a friend?"
The new underwater bosses were pretty good, but some of them shared the exact same moves. For example, Lagiacrus and Agnaktor.
Wait, when did Lagi tunnel through the ground?
wifey!!

Haha... wifey... >.>
That's a signature move for Agnaktor, obviously. What I'm saying is, Lagiacrus and Aganaktor both have similar attacks and attack patterns: For one, they both 'slide' attack you with their side banging into you. Another is that they both shoot some sort of projectile, but Agnaktor's is a beam. They also 'whale' on you slamming with their chest. There are probably others, but those are the only ones that spring to mind.
They all have signature moves of their own, but some seem to copy or imitate another monsters attack moves, once you've mastered one of them, for example Lagiacrus then you know what to do with Agnaktor and maybe even R. Ludroth. You still have to learn each monsters attack moves, patterns and what not, but some of their attacks are about the same. But that's how I see it.
Yes, a lot of monsters that are in the same type have similar movesets. All of the above monsters you mentioned are classified as 'Leviathans' or 'Water Wyverns' in Japan. In MHT it's harder to tell, but a lot of monsters in the same group share moves. Though the examples you gave weren't that great, lots of monsters shoot projectiles and have a hipcheck move... Anyway, they also all usually have unique moves and faster/surprising moves that set them apart. Lots of games have enemies that have the exact same moves, if all games had enemies that used unique moves then games would be... complicated... especially for games that have 50+ enemies to fight like MH.
The gap between the vita and 3DS in terms of graphics capability isn't all that big. Let's be real. Vita's version may look better, but an ocean of a difference?
Unless you're on the magic marijuana, then no.
Multiplatform for 3DS/Vita or WiiU/PS3- i don't care which.
3DS have the graphical power between a GameCube and a PS2....I really don't get why these people are saying its more powerful than a Wii/PS3....>_> And Vita's version is basically a port of Portable 3rd...or the HD version, I can't remember....I just remember seeing Monster Hunter being played on Vita before. lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Well, if the 3DS could run a demo of RE5 which apparently, the Wii could not, then yeah, I would understand why people think it's more powerful than the GCN.
Of course, that RE5 demo had to be optimized somehow, but either way, that's impressive. All I'm saying is the gap bewtween Vita and 3DS isn't like the gap between the DS and PSP. Or better- N64 and Gamecube. And this is in terms of graphical power.
Comparing 3DS and Vita to N64 and GCN are we? Consoles that came out 5 years apart? Well, that works I guess when it comes to crappy nintendo grafix vs Sony's.
Unless you're blind or something, anyone can tell the Vita is capable of so much more when it comes to graphics compared to the 3DS.
It is what it is. Vita is more capable than the 3DS.
But let me try to break this down so maybe you'd understand the point I'm ever so lovingly clearly trying to make: Read this extra extra carefully and digest what I'm trying to say.
The gap between the 3DS and Vita is not a big one like the Wii is to PS3. If you still misunderstand, well, I tried to make it as clear as I possibly can. The 3DS is indeed a powerful system. The Vita is just more powerful. So, if there was an MH game for both 3DS and Vita, let's say, built from the ground up for the respective systems, obviously, the Vita will look much better. But really? Leaps and 5x bounds better?
Well, RE Revelations looks might damn impressive. UNCHARTED GOLDEN Abyss looks impressive too. Both have the same issue- blurry textures.
For obvious reasons, too. It's 12am. Kinda tired. Could elaborate, but I think I've explained my reasoning decently.
Well yes, the Vita version would look a hell of a lot better...cause the 3DS is nothing more than a GameCube graphically....so yes the gab IS pretty big. 3DS = GCN, Vita = PS3....>_>

idrgaf about the exacts when it comes to how big the difference in graphical power between the two consoles is, but it's not small. You'd do better going back to the 'grafix dont matter' ninty fanboy argument.
Graphics don't matter though... as long as they're appealing, models are nicely textured, background isn't blurry and the design is fairly smooth, then that's as far as I want my graphics to go. HD just adds a new layer to the graphics, a pretty layer, but it's just another layer of pixels, big flippin' whoop.
I've had a 360 before and I can safely say... I only ever liked the graphics on any of the games once. Why can I say this? Because once you've played it for over 3-4 hours, they just look meh. Then you find the controls are absolutely atrocious, the game is boring and slow-paced or it's just the same old crap.
It's like looking at a very attractive girl, big bewbs, lovely figure. Spend a few months with her, her attractiveness wears off and then you see for yourself that she's a shallow, bossy, manipulative, annoying little bit... do you see my point?
Also what the hell has this got to do with MH 3D exactly?! but Vita graphics > 3DS graphics
