Topic: Metroid for 3DS leak?

I'm usually not the person fueling the rumour-train. But I just read this over at VGChartz; Have a look at this:

Untitled

''Exclusive games

From Super Smash Bros.™ for Nintendo 3DS to Pokémon™, Animal Crossing™ to Metroid™, the Nintendo 3DS family of handheld systems are home to fan-favorites you can’t find anyplace else.''

Some suggested it's just referring to the VC titles; But then why did they list Metroid under ''exclusive''? It depends on your definition of exclusive. Besides, they could've easily listed a different game. Or it could be a mistake.. who knows?

I wish, but I refuse to get my hopes up. They've been dashed too many times.

doesn't the 3DS have 2 Metroid games? Metroid (NES) and Metroid 2: return of Samus (GameBoy)

I wouldn't read to much into it

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

This. Although, as I say on Twitter a lot, there IS a new Metroid game for 3DS. It's called Xeodrifter by Renegade Kid, and it feels more like a Metroid game than Other M.

It is inevitable, the only consoles a Metroid game hasn't appeared on are the GBC, N64 and Virtual Boy.

Expect Metroid, but fear the result.

It is also pretty fun. My biggest complaint is returning to the ship. I personally would have like it if you kept exploring 1 area that kept getting bigger and bigger rather than 4 areas that only got a little bigger with each upgrade

Still, it's an interesting choice of words; as the 3DS doesn't have its own exclusive Metroid game.

Yea, but Metroid is exclusive to Nintendo Systems and they have used that type of wording in that way before, like I said, I wouldn't read to much into it

It's nothing more than coincidence really. Metroid is a popular franchise, so whoever designed this just listed it on a whim

If it's a popular franchise, why don't they make that many games anymore?

Atari 2600, Commodore 64/128, Sega Genesis, 32X, Sega CD, PC, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Wii, PSP, DSi, PS3, 3DSXL, WiiU

Because Nintendo is afraid of Another M

The sales say otherwise. (Time and time again).

I been waiting a while for a nice 2D Metroid game. But as others said, this is probably nothing.

Samus features prominently enough on Nintendo of Japan's latest kisekae cover plates webpage that it's surely only a matter of time before she returns in a full game:

Mayhaps the New 3DS's C-stick a first or third person Metroid game kind of like the DS one can be possible.

I wouldn't want that though. I hated the DS game...I'd prefer a 2D style game

@6ch6ris6 What made that commercial awesome to me was the shock of seeing Nintendo characters wearing something other than their trademark outifits. We literally never see them wearing anything else, other than the minimal Smash recolors.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

3DS is overdue for a 2D Metroid and a new Advanced Wars. I mean, come on.

Advance Wars is dead, let it be...(unfortunately).
