I don't know what happened to Mercenaries Saga 1 but 2 is out and so far it's pretty good. There is no 3d in the game. The game throws you right into a plot which seems to move forward really smooth for the first 5 stages so far. The graphics are really nice and are pretty close to Final Fantasy Tactics. I'm really enjoying the game so far. It has some nice music on top of good looks and so far a solid story. It's a nice game at a low price.
Still playing 3DS but will have Switch soon for multiplayer with friends. I miss you guys! Adam, Joni, Gavin and the rest of the Blue Rogues from the Phantasy Star Zero Days.
Bought the game earlier today. As a SRPG fan, no way I was passing this one up for 5 bucks.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
@JaxonH: Im on Chapter 11. I can't stop playing. I'm 4 hours in and really liking the story and the strategy. I truly don't have anything bad to say about this game. Now that im really into the game im actually shocked about how much music there is for the game.
Guys this game is no joke. its a High quality low price title. I don't know how long its going to be but so far its great... not good....But great. This is a title which should have no problems reaching 3,000 downloads.

Gosh dernit, I ain't made 'a money! Thanks to your comment, now I gotta go spend another $5 I wasn't planning to. I hope you're happy with yourself.
On a serious note, it's great the 3DS finally has a TRPG worth playing! I don't remember if there was even ONE on the 3DS before this came out...
@nacho_chicken: Glad I could help ya out. lol its worth the 5 bucks. It's really going to be worth it when Circle throws it up on sale. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I am absolutely loving this game, honestly. I think any Final Fantasy Tactics or maybe even Disgaea fan will be fond of this game.
Also I know this is a small thing, but I love that melee units always counter-attack melee attacks, so you can actually strategically get units to turn and face different directions during your turn, allowing you to get back attacks in. Such a small detail but one I love!
I haven't bought Mercenaries 2 yet, but I'm happy CIRCLE exists. Some of the games they publish are pretty meh, but they're probably the most prolific publisher of budget games on the eShop, a niche that has been slowly disappearing or going mobile.
I was wondering about this game. For $5 my only concern was length and quality. Can somebody elaborate a little on a job's system (if present), story progression, and all that?
What a great little gem this game is so far, having a blast with it and have 2 files going (theres 3 save slots) one on easy and one on normal (maybe once u beat the game it opens up a hard mode?? hope so!. anyway if u like this kind of game its well worth it, really fun i highly recommend it for u turn based players.
I am on chapter 12 and power leveling Colette with her Valkerie job! (Yes i know she starts as a nun but I will make her my lance weilding goddess!) I have more then 14 hours clocked in and probably go over the 50 hour mark the way I grind for SP to level skills, make money, power level (albeit slowley due to skills only giving 10 exp a turn) , and always hunting for magical items that turn up in the shop. It has so many hooks that I almost wish this was how the revamped Tactic Ogre was like. Totally worth the 5 dollars and then some! BUY THIS GAME! and don't forget to rate this title in the eshop! We need more titles like this and only buy buying and rating will it encourage development into this untapped and poorly stocked genre. BUY BUY BUY THIS GAME GUYS! (sorry for caps )
@nf_2: if you take the time to level everyone and build skills it should take you around 40ish hours if not a little less depending on play style. you can rush every fight if you want but there are hidden gems scattered around the field you can find and redeem for amazing gear and unlock items to get the last 2 jobs for each person. I heard its around 24 chapers plus a new game+ and an unlocked Hard mode if you want to test your skill (grinding) only half way through but worth every penny!
if u wear certain combinations of gear u will find a nice little set bonus effect, ive found a few different ones so far, small detail but quite cool when deciding what gear to wear
@MERG: spend some more time in free battle to level up, use the cash on proper gear, use the points to buff up your skill stats, and change to a better class as soon as its available
@Sir_Teabag...I did start free battles last night. I haven't reached the level where I can change classes yet. How do I properly use the thief in locating hidden items?
@MERG: hi, the thief has a skill (going from memory as im at work) i believe called 'search' in his list of skills, make sure to add some skill points in there and then on the battlefield when u are using the thief, from his list of things to do u see move, attack, skill etc, choose 'skill', then look for 'search' and it will highlight an area around his feet when u use it, watch for an little graphic that will hover briefly over the 1x1 square if there is a hidden item there, if there isnt then itll just show a generic highlight that fades away. it happens a bit quick but ull notice it. also, if u are standing on the hidden item just by accident, the "investigate" option should be available in any characters menu, so u can find them by accident too sometimes but the search option is fun to use with the thief
@Maximknight: Gotcha. It sounds like the job system works a little like Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced and that there's free roaming on the map, so it's definitely something I could get into. Thanks!
