Just confirming that it's possible to dodge blue shells with a mushroom in MK7 too. I did it today, and it was awesome~
Someone also told me that you can use the raccoon tail on the blue shell as well. I have not tried it yet cause I never have the super leaf when someone throws a blue shell at me. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

@Tasuki I know for sure that you can't dodge the blue shell with a super leaf if you're in 1st because the shell flies into the air once it reaches 1st. I don't know about deflecting it if you're not in 1st, though seeing as the blue shell is absolutely unaffected by and indestructible against anything except for explosions, I'd guess that it's not possible either. Seriously, though, if someone has a blue shell and you're not in 1st, just stay away from the center of the track and you should be fine, although it wouldn't hurt to be especially careful on narrow tracks and be sure not to cut directly in front of someone holding a blue shell as they will probably nail you with it. I learned that last lesson the hard way. I can confirm that you can "dodge" a blue shell by getting hit by a green or red shell right before the blue shell explodes, just like in MKDS. You still have to get hit, but hey, if you had to choose between getting hit by a red or a blue shell, I'm pretty sure we all know which one you'd choose. This method is quite challenging to pull off, however; in my 50+ blue shell dodges so far, I've only managed to do it 2 times, once by accident and once intentionally. The other times I just dodged it with a mushroom.

@NintendoFan_27 lol, I was just too lazy to edit my sig Well actually I wanted to create a strikethrough effect so it would read "Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are going to be awesome games!" or something along those lines. But apparently signatures don't support strikethrough text (do they?) so I just kind of put it aside, and then I never got around to coming up with something else to replace my current signature. Actually...why don't I go fix that right now. I'll be right back.

Yeah, I came up with a nice idea, but I'll probably change it tommorow because I need to work something out on paper, which I don't have right now. Hint: it's related to my signature Check back in about 12 hours (maybe a little longer.)

@Tasuki, i tried to hit it in third with my tanooki tail and it destroied my tail. =( Also I dont think it will work because the shell starts to rise and do a circle around you before you can strike it with your tail.
The Maka Wuhu Glitchers are getting out of hand. Last night I raced them 10 times, 9 of which I came in last. One was a tiny success story. In one of the races, as usual, I didn't glitch. I was the only player other than one more who didn't glitch. I actually felt sorry for that guy, because I accidentally hit him with my Bullet Bill. He was reversing at glitch point, so I think he either was trying to attack the glitchers, see if everybody glitched or trying to figure it out(I didn't see him actually attempt it). I didn't want to hit him, but I didn't want to lose- I had already lost 60 VR from disconnecting in that course. We ended up hitting the glitchers with Lightning at the end and I owned one of them with another Bullet Bill, landing in 5th Place. It turned out the poor guy was last after all that, but bless them for not using that wretched glitch. I really should have got their name. All I remember is they were playing as Lakitu. They're the only person I've seen within the last week who hasn't used the glitch! Also, does anyone go on the no-items community? I'd love to try a pure race in Mario Kart, but I've never seen anyone on it.
I found this review of MK7 a few days ago while exploring Pitchfork, and I'm fairly certain there's no other review of MK7 like it out there, mainly because I don't think there are many indie art critics who have reviewed MK7 as well from the same perspective. A note of caution: Pitchfork, their writers and the advertisements they put up on their site may contain uncensored profanity. While I don't believe there's any within the review itself, you have been warned.

I must admit that I am really agravated by the Wuhu Mountain Loop glitchers, I'm not so bothered that it instantly gives them an advantage... but because it ruins the funs for everyone else who want to play a variety of tracks. Which I'm sure is an argument heard before. Surely if Nintendo can't fix the actual track itself, they could put a patch in the Nintendo servers so that it doesn't get selected online (or less often)?
Otherwise I'm REALLY enjoying playing online!! Especially the competitiveness, I think I must have played 10/15 matches last night and the same person kept shelling me JUST before I hit the finish line first. IF YOU'RE IN HERE, STOP IT!!
What happens in lap 3 in front of the finish line when im first.
Really? Do I really need to repeat this debate again for the third time? That sort of thing happens about 1 in every 100 times, and you're complaining. Plus, there's something called blue shell dodging that can be very handy sometimes. Believe it or not, you can nearly double the amount of time you have a mushroom in first by using some incredibly simple tactics. Not to mention that CPU players hold their blue shells if you're close to the finish. The only time there's even a chance for that sort of thing happens is if you're playing online or if your luck absolutely sucks.

I had to laugh last night when I was playing last night against one friend (Some of you may know her- Soba*, Sammy's sister). She was whooping me practically the whole time we were racing, but I didn't mind a bit. Then at one point on Maple Tree Way I picked up a blue shell. I dropped it right away, but somehow at that second she managed to fall behind me. So when I let go of the shell it bombed ME instead. It was in the part where I was flying, so of course I fell into the black void. I couldn't believe it! What dumb luck.
