It's not up to Reggie, as NoA has no say in it's development.
I wouldn't say that completly, as Reggie and NoA can cut out parts of the game in the localation, X3.
Also did anyone notice how the Mario Kart 7 US Box Art has no Nintendo Wi-Fi Logo on the side?
If you flip the game cases over you'll notice the online multiplayer information on the back. As everyone has pointed out already the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service isn't in use for the 3DS and Wii U at all.

You do realise that dry bones is common Mario enemy
Yeah, but they seem to just favor this enemy above any of the others. (Except Koopas, of course) Goomba? Pokey? Shy Guy? Buzzy Beetle? Nope. Out of all the common Mario enemies, they chose Dry Bones and stuck him in every spinoff game like he was the most important character ever.

Really? Thank goodness! I had a hell of a time trying to find routers compatible with Nintendo Wifi. Perhaps 3DS games will just use regular internet then?
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I always thought that the Nintendo WFC was a branding rather than a service. Was it anything more than just a way to say "hey! look! This game is online!!"? Maybe they simply retired the sticker because all it did was remind people how tedious Nintendo's online game system was on the Wii and DS.........
So yeah, I'm fairly sure the Nintendo WFC service is and will still be running for Wii U and 3DS it's just that they won't be advertising it as the Nintendo WFC. Afterall, that's how an online system should work. You should be able to almost forget that it's "going online".

@PureTrainer I think the real question is.... is the internet ready to see the MK7 version of my Avatar shrink into the distance along with the name "Skywake" when MK7 launches?
Maple Treeway is my favorite track ever. I'm so glad it's back.
Definitely one of the few good ones on Wii. I liked the volcano level a bit, too. Everyone knows Yoshi Falls is the best course ever, though. That and Luigi's Mansion. ...I wish MKDS had stayed popular online forever.
With 4 brilliant ds tracks on mario kart 7 (luigis mansion, dk pass, airship fortress and waluigi pinball) plus maple treewaay and kalimari desert and another 10 retro tracks and 16 brand new ones, I cant wait till it comes out. Metal mario is cool and lakitu is a legend.
OOoh, Luigi's Mansion is back? You made my day. DK Pass and Airship were great, too. I was just thinking about picking up a used copy of MKDS specifically to play Luigi's Mansion again. You may have saved me $30. Should have thought to check the retro course list first.
I don't think it matters too much what DS or Wii tracks they remake because I'll more than likely end up liking the remade SNES tracks the most. For obvious reasons.
Out of the Wii tracks and the DS tracks that weren't remade on the Wii (Yoshi Falls is the best DS track) I'd say that Airship Fortress, Tick Tock Clock, Waluigi Pinball, Maple Treeway, Koopa Cape and Bowser's Castle were the best tracks. So it's good to see a fair few of those tracks returning...... but it looks like we won't get a Tick Tock Clock remake in this version

Tick Tock Clock is definitely one of the most interesting MK tracks yet. And yea, the SNES tracks are always awesome (GBA ones, too, as they have a similar style).
I did love Tick Tock Clock, it was certainly one of the more interesting courses in MKDS, took me a while to get used to it actually. I'm loving that Luigi's Mansion is back, that course rocked! Except for the blasted moving trees, especially online where people could bash you into them...
I'm just wondering what new game modes they're going to put on to battle mode, that is if there is one. Maybe not just coin collecting and baloon popping, but maybe something else. I'd like to see what they could do with it.

Heh...I don't know. Are they ready to eat your dust?
"Pay me 20 Rupees and I'll talk." CHINK
"Never forget the comfort of freshly-washed shorts."
Balloon popping is all I need in battle mode. I just hope they don't stupidly restrict you to team battle only like in MKW. That was pointless. MK Battle is best in free for all.
anyone think we'll be getting missions again? I enjoyed them, the more gameplay the better, in most cases.
Oh man, I sure hope so. They were like the Mario Kart edition of Smash Bros. Event Matches, and they even included boss battles. I still play the MKDS Missions sometimes.
