It's longness might be unique, but it was just a boring track. What I've always loved about all the Rainbow Road tracks, was then lack of borders. If you don't drive well, you fall of the track. I love that challenge of those tracks. But here, there are borders all around.

If you look closely right at the beginning of the new trailer where Mario gets the item block, you can see the blue shell in the item spinner...with NO WINGS!!! Does this mean Nintendo is going back tp the old N64 style blue shell? If so, this will surely be good news to all those players who hate the flying blue shell... P.S. I don't hate the flying blue shell myself, but I just wanted to point this out to everyone

It's a green shell in the same way that the golden mushroom is a mushroom. It also remains to be seen whether it behaves in the same way as a green shell. Maybe it has a limited range or a tendency to jump over small walls.
and has anyone thought that the Leaf was their way of bringing back the Feather of Super Mario Kart? just a thought...........

On IGN they talked about the ability to register and play against people you get on streetpass. On the one hand I think "damn, that's a really cool feature" but on the other hand I think "it still uses the unified 3DS friend roster doesn't it?"
I'm guessing maybe they just show you when you've loaded up Mario Kart if a streetpass person is online and lets you play against them. Or send them challenges or something. I don't know why it's not a universal feature across all games.......

Metal Box should have been a power-up, instead of Metal Mario being a character.
Actually, I think this would have been a good idea. n_n I don't really favour Mario as it is and the ability to turn metal would give you a decent advantage if it were a power-up. Like being able to knock people.
Oh man, after watching that Mario Kart 7 Conference interview I'm more excited for MK7 more than ever. The addition of the Fire flower looks absolutely awesome....Seems way more zippity, quick and fun to use than a typical green shell hehe.
Day one buy for me!. Anyways, so we've got Metal Mario and a Cloud Koopaloopa(ya that's what i call him.lol) Here's hoping for a Shy Guy along with Birdo.
Yes I want Shy Guy too! I'm also happy about the 8 person multiplayer local and wifi, because of the blue shell or any shell actually is annoying during the 3rd lap. I always went from 1st or 2nd place to last place 4th.
