Having Shy Guy & Birdo as racers would be great too.

I know it would probably never happen, but I'd love to have some characters appear from the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi Series. They seem to get ignored when it comes to Mario Kart...

Racers I want to see.

Fawful
Cackletta (although she's not really as relevant as Fawful now...but still plausible)
Vivian (Never gonna happen, but she's my favourite paper mario partner)
Shroob (Toad's karting nemesis. )
Twink (The tiny star from Paper Mario......Just roll with it)

For the paper mario characters, I don't think they NEED to be paper. They can be represented as characters in their own right.

You know, if they can add Funky Kong and R.O.B as racers there isn't much else outside the boundaries.

The new Fireball power-up looks really good. Also, I think they should have characters from the wario games. If Diddy kong and Funky kong can be in Mario kart then I think they shoudl bring in some characters from the Wario games. Paper Mario series characters would be good too.

This. Maybe it could have effected air and water travel somehow while in use, like better handling underwater and lowering faster during flight.

I would have to guess Luma and Prof E. Gadd for new racers, if any.

so glad that we finally have a release date. day 1 buy for me. even my four year old son wants to play it. he loves mario kart. he told my hubby "When are you going to buy a 3DS for Mommy so I can play Mario Kart 7?".....that got a laugh out of me lol

since I don't know if it's been touched on I've got to ask, what do you think would happen if you're under water and someone uses lightning? would you be safe or would it also shock fish or just be normal?

Well of course you would be safe. That would be poor balancing of that particular item.

This is very EXCITING! The first person feature is really a nice addition and the ability to go underwater is still unbelievable.

I hope we get Bowser Jr or Diddy Kong again because they were my favourite characters on the Wii. Mostly because I didn't like the feel of the large Karts and there were a lot more offroad sections. Also Dry Bones, Bowser and.... Baby Daisy.

My reaction when I read your post: "....What.....no! NO! The babies rock! Yeah Waluigi and Daisy suck...huh?!"

Because we all like characters that makes odd sound effect when they talk.
And we like odd Mario enemies that no one else likes, or even want to see in the game.

There is a ton of banter in your post that makes no sense, LJM...

1. Side characters are not boring. They liven up an otherwise potentially homogenous experience.

2. I happen to like odd Mario enemies, and long to see a few in this game. Ergo, people do like them.

I hope in either MK7 or on the Wii U's Mario Kart, that put in a Warioware themed course (either a race course or a battle course) or they make Mona a playable character.
