Recently I’ve been looking online for a new 3ds, but all I can find is the original 3ds line and the new 3ds xl. Does anyone know a website/place where I can get my hands on a non-xl new 3ds?

@cypra it’s been discontinue a while back so stores don’t retail it here. Try your luck with
eBay
Amazon

@cypra The regular New 3DS was a more limited run, sold out virtually everywhere in the US here back in 2018-ish. It's only been available new via scalpers with bloated prices since. New 3DS XL had a more robust supply. If I could have found a normal retail price New 3DS, I would have gotten it back in 2018/2019, but they sold out so fast, I never got a chance.

Maybe you can consider New 3DS XL model for plan B if you still unable to find regular New 3DS machine.
New 3DS XL have bigger screen size and longer battery life, perfect to play NDS games too in bigger screen and louder sounds.

Your best bets in my experience are eBay or CeX. Possibly Gumtree, maybe even Facebook Marketplace but I wouldn't expect much.
eBay still has a lot of regular-sized New 3DSes, and the prices people want on there are about as fair as you're going to get.

I have a New 3DS that I bought at retail, it’s my pride and joy Nintendo device of all time. Having spent time scouting for a brand new backup I can say you’re basically gonna have to bite the bullet and pay up on eBay. Japanese models tend to be better priced. I haven’t yet bitten the bullet but I know they’re only going up. Probably not many years before you’re looking at paying a grand for old stock New 3DS

This is actually a good point. I don't know if it's frowned upon to mention here, but you could buy a Japanese model and use some...open-source tools, to change the region.
