I hope none of the waifu crap from awakening appears in the game. FE is about action, adventure, choosing who lives or dies. Not some lovely dovey stuff.

I do agree tho. Alot of my dislike of Awakening seems like it's moving on to Fates, but I did't mind the freedom in Awakening. If you want a waifu simulator, then play something else. Don't force a game to be something it's not. While I do like supports, they're sweet, funny and some make me laugh or smile, but Awakening never accomplished any of that. Rather is was, "I love you, let's get married." right away without spending any time together or getting to know one another. It was just to much for pander and just gimmicky with the bad characters.

Honestly, the romance in Fire Emblem isn't really that romantic to begin with. Sure, some of the ladies are steaming hot ( Tharja anyone? ) But there's really not much of romance you see there. If anything, its your choice of who you think deserves to love each other and its optional so I'm fine with it.

Have they said how the digital release is going to work for this game? My buddy told me it was going to be some weird multiple DLC release thing but I can't find any info myself. Does anyone here know?

Don't really see the big deal with the marriages. Awakening wasn't even the first game to use it. Also it doesn't seem that farfetched for a group of people that spend a great deal of time together having relationships crop up from time to time.

You buy the digital version and play up until chapter 6 (there is no difference between the two versions during the first six chapters). When it's time to decide depending on which path you take the other route becomes DLC. Similar works with the retail version, except your choice is already made based on which version you bought. A third path is also available but will cost extra regardless if you buy digital or retail.

Well, apparently someone got their hands on the Japanese version. Let's just say that there's absolutely way Fates will make it to the west uncensored. Some very lewd dialogue.

I personally really enjoyed the marriage system. It was incredibly fun seeing the way the characters interacted with one another.

Certain Fire Emblem fans annoy me. Oh boohoo, Nintendo wants your series to be...successful and relevant! GASP! You guys get 2 games essentially released at once, BUT Y NO STRATEGY GAMPLA IN MAH WII U GAME, NO ONE LIKED PERSONA BLARGAH!!1!!11!

Even the Metroid fans are embarrassed for you. There's a huge difference between not liking the direction of a certain section of the series and just being a close-minded, cynical jerk, and some people have WAAAAY crossed that line. You guys get 2 games at the same time while I wait for a 7th or 8th year for hope that next year Ubisoft announces Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Agreed. It didn't make or break the game for me (I didn't even get all the kids) ...although I will say female avatar/Chrom makes the endgame decision have way more impact from a story telling perspective.
