General: Here are a few helpfull tipps for your journey
VERY IMPORTANT!! Be sure you use the mii directly when enter the street pass mii plaza, because when you exit it, you won't be able to use the mii ever again!!
Shields: If you encounter an enemy with a shield, there is NO other way to hit him then destroy the shield. To destroy the shield you have to "Attack" it with a Mii of the same colour. For example: A yellow shield is in your way? You need a yellow shirted Mii to destroy it. The shield then takes only one hit to be destroyed BUT (!) even if there is a shield in your way and the shirt color does'nt match: You can still hit the enemieswith magic attacks!
Magic effects don't carry over to the next room OR a new run. when you leave the adventure (for example to hire new cats/dogs) the magic effect is no more.
The Dark Room: The second to last room is pitchblack. You will need a white shirted Mii to use his magic to lighten up the room.
While other magics do not carry over, the second to last room, which you need to light up by a white-shirted mii, will stay lit after you once lit it up.
The selection of you favourite animal (dog or cat) will decide what animals are gonna come when you buy a hero.
A collected Hero (via StreetPass in the open wild) will Level-Up everytime you gonna pass him again. The highest Level a StreetPass Mii can get is Lvl 7
You can alway hold down the "R"-Button to speed things up!
The mii you use needs to be at least lvl 2 to damage armoured ghosts or score a crit.
Tactics: And here are a few helpfull (at least i hope so) tactics
Don't use light-green or light-green magic if you already used orange, because the ghosts will wake up at the same time you're getting your extra attack anyway. it's a waste!
Always try to complete your team. A team for one run can consist of 10 members. That includes Miis, Dogs or Cats. The more the merrier.
Try to use Magic "Poison", as early as possible. That's gonna give you quite a head start.
While "Sleep"- or "Freeze"-Magic save you miis from any damage, the magic will anly last as long as one of you miis hit the enemy with the sword.
Sandstorm-Magic: Some statistics on the sandstorm-magic (thx to iphys) : "Level 2 heroes were able to get in 5 of 7 and 6 of 9 attacks level 1 heroes got in 1 of 3 and 2 of 5 attacks, so it seems like level 1 heroes might have more trouble doing sword attacks in sandstorms than level 2. I guess if you're planning to do sword attacks with any of your level 1 heroes you might want to do so before creating a sandstorm.
Magic:
When you meet an enemy you have three choices. "Attack", "Magic" or "Skip" (<== what is this option called in english?). When you select "Attack", your Mii gonna hit the enemy with his sword. normallý the Mii is going to do this three times. But strenght and frequency can be altered by the second option"Magic" (see list below). The third opton let's you skip your hero, so you can use you next Mii. The skipped Mii will appear later on. Please consider that you can use just on of these options. You CAN'T use "Magic" first and then hit the enemy with the sword.
Black Covers area in darkness. Looks like you can get more hits with it and you don't miss so much hits
Dark-Blue Attacks ghosts with water. Critical against: Blood Ghosts. No damage to: Blue Ghosts
Light-Blue Freezes ghosts. Which does no damage, but stops them moving for a bit and you can get some more hits
Brown Summons Wandering Hero. Summons a rabbit hero to fight in place of this hero. The level of the rabbit is generated at random and could be lower than the level of the summoner.
Dark-Green Strengthens the next hero. This doubles the level of the next hero in your party. ONLY works on the next hero. so know your lineup!
Light-Green Puts a ghost to sleep. This gives you the chance to land a few hits more
Orange Invigorates heroes. Gives remaining heroes in your party a morale boost, which means that they attack with their sword 4 times instead of the usual 3 times.
Pink Fills heroes with daring. Decreases accuracy, but any attack that hits is critical.
Purple Attacks ghosts with poison. All ghosts that get poisoned take 1HP of damage for each hero's turn during the fight. This spell does not stack, you cannot double-poison an enemy for more damage per turn.
Red Attacks ghosts with fire. Critical against: Blue Ghosts No damage to: Blood Ghosts
White Bathes area with light. Lights up the totally dark, second-last room.
Yellow Creates a sandstorm. This decreases the accuracy for all heroes that attack with their swords, but it also increases the chances of landing a powerful critical hit with the sword.

I believe the limit for streetpass heroes is level 7. I just say that based on a comment somebody made on another thread that mentioned something about his/her family members all being level 7.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
can an effect cross over to the next time you play? like if you poison a ghost or darken a room, will that still happen when you return? Btw, I can't add you at the moment cause my school's internet is stupid with the DS's, but I'm going to add you

nope, effects from magic don't carry over. it hold on as long as you as you still got heroes. when you go back to the menu (let's say to hire some cats/dogs) all effects are gone.
at the moment i'm at the amoured knoght/ghost....man he's hard! lvl 1 mii/cats/dogs do nothing against him. phew!
I finally got a StreetPass hit that added a Mii to my plaza, but I can't figure out how to get his puzzle piece or use him in Find Mii. What do I do.
So what effects (if any) do colored ghosts have?
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

load up Street pass mii plaza there u should welcome you new mii-fellow. when u are in the menu select the right option (the yellow backpack with the sword) to get to the games (the backpack as both games should be marked with a red dot with an exclamation mark in it). there u can select if you want him/her to be used in what game. it doesnt really matter where you use him/her because you can use him/her either way in both games.
just be sure u use the mii directly if u enter the street pass mii plaza, because when you exit it, you wont be able to use the mii ever again. nintendo really needs to fix that!
about the ghost colour.... i have no idea. all i know is that some ghosts take hits by some magic, different coloured ones (the big guys) don't. that's it
None, really. The only colours you need to worry about are when you encounter ghosts with particular shields. You need a Mii or cat/dog/rabbit of the same colour to break the shield. Poison and fire work on them, though (and possibly other magical attacks). If you are using poison, make sure there are loads of other heroes waiting to attack so you get the most out of it (so use your play coins and build up a nice queue of attackers, use the poison first then do whatever with the rest).
Finally, at some point halfway up the tower, you need a white hero to clear out the darkness in one of the rooms. You can do nothing without one.

@NeoRausch - The bunny summoning spell doesn't always create them one level higher than the summoner, I think it's random. My wife summoned a level 1 bunny yesterday.
