Topic: Favorite 3DS Game!

I am one of the very few people left in this world that believes that the 3DS is an awesome handheld console, despite the Switch being superior in most ways.

What is everyone's favorite 3DS game so far? I've put a ton of hours into Pokemon Sun and Dragon Quest VII. I think 400 hours for Pokemon Sun and about 80 hours for Dragon Quest VII.

How about you guys??

My most played is Animal Crossing: New Leaf, at about 160 hours, but I haven't gone back to it for a couple of years so I'd be hesitant to call it my favourite now. Having recently played and loved Ace Attorney Trilogy, I think that's become my favourite game on the 3DS, and I'm looking forward to playing the rest of the games in the series.

@Dogorilla Ace Attorney games are so goofy and fun! I recently replaced my SD card in my 3DS and, like a dum-dum, didn't backup my save, so my save was wiped :/

My backlog is bigger than the list of games I've played

I think I've put the most hours into, and most enjoyed, Ocarina of Time 3D, it being my first proper play of the legendary game.

I seem to remember really enjoying Super Mario 3D Land too, but it was a pretty short affair, beating it in less than 10 hours, though I've not been back to 100% the levels or check for any new levels yet.

Kirby Triple Deluxe is also in my top 3.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@Dogorilla I think I was close I was at the mock trial at the attorney college. Stuff was intense!

@ReaderRagfish Sadly, I was late to the 3DS (didn't get one until late 2010) and didn't get to fully experience Monster Hunter. I'm most likely gonna get it on Switch towards the end of this month though!

Xenodblade and Dragon Quest VII were really, really good time-killers and I'm glad that someone else has thoroughly enjoyed them as much as I have!

@Anti-Matter I've always though about checking out Fantasy Life! I may have to do so, but after I finish Etrian Odyssey V

@gcunit hahaha I can DEFINITELY relate! I have yet to finish Shin Megami Tensei IV, Dragon Quest VI, and 7th Dragon III, but I also REALLY WANT to keep buying more games. MOAR. GAMEZ.

My most played is MK8 followed by Fantasy Life & Monster Hunter (3 different titles, but they're all very similar).
However, my favorite was Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Such a masterpiece of exploration mixed with puzzles.
I haven't touched my 3DS much since the Switch came out, but over the last week I've pulled it out again as I got Ever Oasis. WHAT a hidden GEM! I hope they port it to Switch so more people will enjoy it, I'm really digging the mix of Real-Time Party battles, Zelda-like exploration, Monster Hunter like gathering, and totally unique Town Building and item stocking. LOVE IT!

I don't remember that bit so I'm guessing it's in one of the later games? Either way, if you still have the old SD card you could probably put that back in your 3DS and I think it would still have your old save data.

I'll have to side with Ocarina of Time 3D as well; some may just dismiss it as a port, but it was my first proper playthrough of the game. There are a lot of 3DS games that I've enjoyed, and I can count on one hand the list of games that I didn't like.

While I wouldn't say Super Mario 3D Land is the best Mario game out there, it used the 3D effect really well and was a blast at the time. At the point I received the game, it had been a few years since I had played a Mario title. Plus, I hadn't played any of the other 3D entries at that point.

@cyrus_zuo: I played Ever Oasis and completely agree that it's an overlooked gem. It's not quite GotY material, but it definitely deserved more attention.

Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)

@Tyranexx @cyrus_zuo I too agree that Ever Oasis was an absolute GEM. The characters are all cute as crap and everything is colorful and the townbuilding is addictive and I could just go on and on and on

@ReaderRagfish woops! I meant to say late 2016, rather than 2010. I got a 3DS pretty much for Pokemon SuMo. I'm definitely gonna wait until Generations: Ultimate comes out

All of the 3DS Pokémon games, Ever Oasis and Monster Hunter Stories. I’m a big Pokémon fan, been playing since the beginning. Ever Oasis because it’s just a new and amazing game. The world was so colourful and it had just the right amount of challenge for me. Monster Hunter Stories is just a fun and vibrant game. I am addicted to it.

Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

I'd say Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I'm a big fan of ALTTP and ALBW was amazing to me.
Love the visuals, the soundtrack is incredible, it has great dungeons... It's short for a Zelda game, but it doesn't have any filler I can think of.

I'm a big fan of adventure games and Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice is my favorite one on the system. Virtue's Last Reward is also worth mentioning.

In terms of platformers, Kirby: Planet Robobot is my number one. The mecha gameplay is really fun, I love being able to destroy cars in the city level (which is a new setting for Kirby titles). The soundtrack is really fitting for the futuristic theme of the game.

@SlimFreakinFast It's a great game, I highly recommend it. The mecha mechanic is very fun and refreshing. People were complaining about games like Kirby's Return to Dreamland being too 'vanilla' and Robobot brought something different to the series.
It's also notable how it came out pretty late into the 3DS's lifecycle (2016)!
