Family Kart 3D (Arc System Works, $4.99) — The Family range of games from Arc System Works continues with this kart racer. It looks positive in raw numbers — there are three modes (Grand Prix, Free Play, and Time Mode), eight characters, eight karts and 12 tracks.
With that bit of info said, the game looks a lot like Mario kart, if you didn't have enough MK7 action on your 3ds or want the cheap version, well this game is something you may want to take a look at.
I don't have this, but if it's anything like Family Tennis 3D (which it should be, considering they're from the same series), while it won't have online, or be a shining example of the genre, it'll be a capable, inexpensive alternative to it's retail brethren, with loads of Japanese charm (such as it's cute anime art style, and "engrish" phrases).
I found Family Tennis 3D to be good for quick pick up & play sessions, so I'll probably get this sometime down the road.

The Video looks cool and like the game will be fun. I might pick this up at some point. I really liked the tennis game. I do have Mariokart so we will see. I just have so much to play. This looks good though. The Cart game has online Rankings so that's something cool. I'm not going to scream about the game not having online play since Mariokart fills that for me. I have noticed that ARC Systems seems to be making clones of some of the popular Nintendo games. Nothin wrong with that since they offer them at far less price and do give people a chance to experience a good clone of a game they maynot be able to buy. I have the Tennis game and Soccer game from them and both are good quality games at the budget prices
@RR529 Good to see ya! Been a while since i've seen ya. Howz the gaming been? Did ya beat Picdun 2?
Still playing 3DS but will have Switch soon for multiplayer with friends. I miss you guys! Adam, Joni, Gavin and the rest of the Blue Rogues from the Phantasy Star Zero Days.
@Windy, in response to your Picdun 2 question, I think I got stuck on floor 58 (or was it 59), lol. I should go back & try to finish it though, since there's only 60 floors, & I'm so close.

So much good stuff came out this year so fast and I haven't been able to control my buying unfortunately Picdun moved onto my backlog I plan to pick up Shin Megami Tensei IV this week and was planning to move everything to backburner for that. The reviews and statements by people have just been wildly popualar I must have it LOL I have a recommendation for ya it's a Cheapy and is pretty darn good It's called Adventures of Tintin and plays like Prince of Persia. 4.99 at amazon even with 4.00 dollars for shipping well worth it

I have a Mario Kart 7 clone, it is called Ben 10 Galactic Racing. It's the Ben 10 themed version of Mario Kart, only that it sucks with turning and drifting controls. If I wanted a cheaper Mario Kart on my 3DS, I would wait until Super Mario Kart or Mario Kart 64. If I wanted a Mario Kart with anime in it, I would wait until Super Naruto Kart. However, this game looks like an exact clone of Mario Kart 7, with the touch screen of Mario Kart DS, and anime.

@Obito_Tennyson, while this is definitely in the same genré as Mario Kart, it's not a clone of MK7, as it was made first.
In Japan, this was released a few months before MK7.
Then maybe I should just say Mario Kart Wii since Mario Kart 7 is almost identical to how Mario Kart Wii looks. It's Mario Kart Wii in the top screen, and Mario Kart DS on the touch screen.
To be fair, one of the major reasons these games were bad on WiiWare was because of the terrible motion controls, which obviously isn't an issue with the eShop version.
Just compare the reviews for Family Tennis, and Family Tennis 3D, to see my point (they even added new content to the 3DS version).

I always thought these games were just a worse version of the mario sports series...
In a sense, that's kind of the point. They're inexpensive alternatives to the retail arcade sports games (the most notable of which are the Mario ones).
Outside of Tennis & Kart, they also have Solitaire, Poker, Beach Volleyball, Bowling, Mini-Golf, Table Tennis, & Pirate Party (whatever that is) entries on the Japanese eShop as well.

None of this discussion is helping me with the question I asked... has anyone PLAYED this game?
I downloaded it and it's a good game. It's very addicting and I actually like it better than mk7 because quite honestly I like the anime style better than the fat plumber.
