The artwork was what made be interested in purchasing this day one without reading any reviews since I was a fan of Hotel Dusk. However, Chase doesn't play anything like Hotel Dusk. It doesn't play like anything at all. Its literally just a very very short novel with a few menu selections asking you to remember what had been said five minutes earlier. It took me about 1:40 to complete. I thought there would be a second case to do as it ended on a cliffhanger but nope. That was it. The characters are as bland and forgettable, and the mystery is very shallow. The only decent thing about this game is the artwork and that was only because it reminded me of Hotel Dusk. However, the two main characters don't leave the office and there is very few artwork of locations and people outside the office. There is also literally no replay value unless you want to read the story again.

For £6, I felt very disappointed. If there had been a second case in the same game, I'd have felt less disappointed. Don't be fooled that you're getting a game like Hotel Dusk. And if you really must try this game, you should really wait for a sale.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Thanks for the post, I was going to get this, as I also enjoyed Hotel Dusk. I do own the Last Window, but haven't played it yet and was interested in getting Chase. I may still get it, sounds like it has nothing at all to do with Kyle Hyde so I don't need to play nor finish Last Window to check it out.

Just finished the game. It's very short. Even though the artwork is decent the gameplay itself is a half ass'd effort of disguising it into feeling like a detective game. To be honest this is a very disappointing effort. Wait on a sale. I don't know if half price would even be worth it. It's actually hard to find a good detective game. This definitely isn't it. I would rate this a 4 at best. It's just reading a story and answering questions about what you have read about the story. That's all

You can beat the game in 45 minutes or so. Great detective game right? I did like the artwork but it didn't make up much for this bland effort. I wonder if the person who reviewed the game here at Nintendo life finished the game? It really doesn't feel like a game. Definitely not worthy of a 7 rating poor effort and bad inflated rating by nintendolife

It's really very short. The gameplay is extremely simplistic, it consists of remembering the facts of the case and answering correctly later. The case itself felt generic.
It doesn't have the great feel or charm the Hotel Dusk games had unfortunately.

This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.

I liked the visuals and soundtrack but otherwise it failed to impress me. I don't feel like my money went to waste though. I know worse games.

It's its, not it's.

I finished the 'game' this weekend. Yup, it isn't really a game. Just a short mystery whodunit with a little bit of interaction.

It appears to be the first part of several chapters. I agree this title has been overrated, but I still enjoyed it and would buy the next installment to see where the story goes next after the abrupt cliffhanger ending.

Is there a follow-up to Chase yet? Or something similar by the creators in the pipeline?

I havent seen any hints at a sequel for Chase yet but you never know if it did well enough which it probably did because of the artwork they might surprise us. The first game was one that snuck up on me and just appeared in the eshop. Thats been happening alot over the last year. At least to me. Im really hoping that JB Harold Murder Club which was just released for the Switch Eshop will be ported. I read that they have translated the game already. I think it would run on 3ds easily as well maybe we will see that soon.
