Did you grab booster .8? If you did, you are doomed and can never get the best ending unless you restart.

What? Crap.

You can unlock Nemesis Challenge by entering the house under Kazuma's dragon, then doing the quest by going to the graveyard. If you already went past that part as well, just restart, though YOU CAN unlock a secret ending by wearing the Mimiga mask during the final battle. (By going through the Last Cave without the booster)

So I just beat the game! . This was one of the only games were backtracking was fun! . But the final boss was awesome!

Finished a "better" run of the game in which Curly is saved and I got the Spur, but I guess they still want me to beat Hell before they unlock anything else. Yikes, that level is brutal.

Also, found another glitch: if you unlock Nemesis mode you can enter the challenges menu. The others are all marked ??? but the cursor starts on the top one, and it lets you select it. (It's Hell Rush mode.) If you move the cursor you won't be able to put it back, but the first time you open that menu, it'll be at the first option by default, and you can play it even if you haven't unlocked it. FUN!

Made it to Ballos for the first time ever! Had to use my precious life pot on that darned giant press. Any tips on how to make it through that fight? It gets way too cluttered and I end up smacking into all kinds of things!

Just get ready for the Giant press boss, get right under it, with a fully charge Spur, and just finish him off with Missles, shoot them as fast as you can, before it kills you, and then jump out of the way before it crush you when it dies.
This takes a few tries to get it right, but it saves you time and health to fight Ballos.

Wait, are you suggesting I can just pound it to death with missiles in one go? Ugh, I'm so dumb...I keep trying to avoid all that crap on the screen instead. Thanks man! It's worth tanking a few hits instead in the interests of killing it off faster.

Jump Mad you magnificent b**tard. That strategy worked and won the game for me. I never thought I'd finally beat the Sanctuary. Thanks a lot man!

I'm still at the Doctor. I'm having a lot of trouble for some reason

If you have the Spur, he gives you time to charge it fully while he disappears. Otherwise just bombard, bombard, bombard! He doesn't do much damage when he connects, so don't worry about tanking a hit. When he unleashes the fireballs, focus on those ONLY. Don't worry about him hitting you, it will almost never happen. Also try not to hit the red crystal...it absorbs shots. No problem if you're using the machine gun or something, but if it's the Spur it can be a big waste.

His second form is easier. All he can do is charge you (easy to avoid) and release bats. I think the bubbler can kill the bats before they hit you, and a well-timed missile or two should even take them all out as they spawn. That said, don't worry about tanking hits from them. They hurt less than the Doctor, and afterward you can replenish your energy quite a bit by talking to Chako twice. Hope this helps!

And SAVE THE LIFE POT! You'll need it in the next room if you're doing a standard run. If you're visiting the Sanctuary afterward...well...hold on to it even longer!

@lz I would suggest you stop eating all those Denpa men. They are bad for your system. No wonder you're stuck at the doctor's, you're bloated from radio waves!

I'm still working on the Scared Grounds. I've made it to Ballos twice before, but I forget to use my Life Pot in time. I'm going to see if JumpMad's Heavy Press strategy works.
P.S. Here's a little bonus for those who are in the Scared Grounds. Right before the Heavy Press fight, there is a star block. Shoot it, and you will find a chest underneath it that contains 24 extra missles (more if you didn't get the Super Missles).

Better method. Use nemesis in the battle (Or blade if you don't have it), staying under heavy press the entire time while shooting rapidly. THEN when the rollings come, jump and let go of up, mashing the fire button. The butes won't hurt you as you will fire at them in mid jump. Then repeat. You can beat Heavy press without any damage this way!

I feel like an idoit, but whats the nemesis? A weapon?

The Nemesis is a weapon that is second only to the Spur. It is very powerful and can be fired quite rapidly. However, this is only on Level 1. If you get a power crystal with the Nemesis, it will automatically level up, which makes it weaker. It's very good in the Sacred Grounds. To get it, you must trade the Blade with the Littles.

I just tried the Nemesis method and it works MUCH better than the missle method. Thanks for the tip.

Playing through Curly Story now. I'm going slower than I did in my normal playthrough, as not to rush things.

I got an item I didn't get on my normal playthrough, Chako's Rouge. Not sure if it serves a purpose.

BTW, How do you trade the Blade for the Nemesis? I've talked to the littles in my normal playthrough, but there's nothing about initiating a trade. Also, there's a hidden chest in the Outer Wall (near that odd tile with the clock), but I can't open it.

You found Mr. Little in the graveyard right? If not, take him from the graveyard back to the Little's house. Then chat with him specifically. He should initiate a trade.

First, did you talk to Prof. Booster when he fell from the ceiling? If you ignored him, then did you save Curly/Quote after the Core fight? If you did either, then you won't be able to open the chest. As for the Nemesis, you must find Mr. Little (who is walking around the lower level of the Mimiga Cemetery) and return him to his family. He will then offer to trade the Nemesis in exchange for the Blade. Ask me if you have anymore questions. I love answering questions!
