Hey there!
I'm really new to these forums and I need to find out the answer to my question quick. I have no NNID and i'm just using the eshop without an account. I want to get Coaster Creator 3D from the UK eshop because it's not available in New Zealand where I live. Here's what I hope to do, I'll buy the game and get it on my New 3DS. I'll then switch regions to NZ and create a NNID under that country. I'm worried that when I create the account it'll delete the game because it's not avaliable here. I want to find out because if i end up buying the game and then losing it, I'll have just wasted my money.
Thanks!

Although I haven't done something like this in awhile, I remember on the Wii it was possible to own titles exclusive to various regions. However, I believe that it would require you to change regions any time you wanted to play a game that wasn't available in the region the console was currently set to.

@shinesprite: Hmm... Maybe that applies to 3ds aswell but I remember reading somewhere that as long as you don't uninstall the game in the region that doesn't have it, it should stay there.

Also it would mean that I couldn't create an NNID account because you can't switch regions or accounts at will.

I kind of need an answer from someone who's actually tried this or knows what will happen.

Your NNID is locked to the country you first set it to. Changing it would require the deletion of the NNID off the device and a creation of a new NNID - doing so would require a format and you would no longer have the games and saves from the first NNID on the system.

Stay safe, kids: Make sure to save frequently during multiplayer, and always use a stylus!

Well, I guess there really is no way to play games from other eShop regions with an NNID. I think I'll get Rollercoaster World on PS3 instead. Thanks anyway!
