Katernity

after about an hour of playing resident evil, the circle pad stopped working. i can aim/turn/walk toward the right normally, but going to the left is like walking through molasses. with a high speed game like resident evil, this means it is no longer possible to play.

I tried resetting the system making sure the circle pad is in a neutral position, and doing the circle pad calibration. in the calibration, i could not get the triangles to turn green.

fortunately, i am under warranty and i am sending it in to nintendo to repair for free.

just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience with their 3DS.

Nope. Only have cuts in my d-pad.

Gee, all these reports of people their 3DS send to Nintendo so early makes me feel proud of my less-broken 3DS.

Love my 3DS, Fighting games and Zombies. Enuff' said.

nope, and im glad.

i used it hard with street fighter without problem.
nintendo never game me good results with their joysticks. EVERY nintendo 64 and gamecube pads ended up having loose joysticks, or being impossible to calibrate accurately. (always move to the right/left, slightly wrong direction response, etc.)

the wii, well, i dont own one, but my friend has one of his 2 nunchuck that has a slightly loose joystick. its only a matter of time for it to fail, like every generation of pads nintendo does.

i love nintendo, that for years. but they really should put money on their pads once and for all, and fix that damn joystick problem. its easy to replace a pad, and not too high priced.
but replacing a 3Ds after 2 years will be sad and hard for my wallet. i hope it will last this time...
you think they can transfer all your data to a new 3ds, even if youre willing to pay for it ? like a soul transfer

Not had that problem, but I do have nail cuts from beating Super Monkey Ball 100% with circle pad. So yeah, be careful with your thumb nail cos those cuts are a little annoying.

Weird. I drop mine all the time, and aside from a few dents and scratches everywhere the system still works fine for me

Mine works fine. All my nintendo controllers joysticks work fine. It might have just been your systems circle pad that was messed up a little when you bought it.

My circle pad works fine, but there is a little cut in the plastic underneath the circle pad.

Mines fine, and I've been sure not to dig my nail into the thing neither so I don't have any cuts in it.

Super like Mario.

My circle pad has lost its rubber top after months of miniturbos on MK7 time trails but it still works fine.

I've seen a store kiosk circle pad like that too, feel rough when you use it without the rubber.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

My circle pad has gone a tiny bit oblong. I think I might be pressing too hard during Mario Kart

My Wii's nunchuk's analog stick got loose after about 2 years of occasional usage. My 3DS has a great analog stick after 2 years of regular usage. I'd say they're making improvements.

My XL has taken a ton of abuse and is still okay. It's apparently much harder to destroy than the fragile DS Lite was.

Yes, but you get used to it.

my aqua blue 3dsxl was THROWN out last months cause I had it for over a year in 4months and the back started falling off it was missing a circle pad the fell off from too much gameplay and I winded up buying a flare red 3dsxl now im too freaked out too play because im afraid I might break it again I don't break my 3dsxls but im a little worried and so I spend more time on the Wii u because im afraid that If I consistently play it it will burn out and than ill have to buy another one

I know how you feel, when my R button broke it took me almost 2 months after fixing to lose fear of breaking it again.... in that time I was doing my best to only play games that don't use the R button much until it felt normal again....

My "rubber" on my Circle Pad is gone if that counts.

i have only had my 3DS XL for 3 months, and magically one day there is now a tiny gash(as best i can describe ) on the screen. I have no idea how it even arrived there, or if it was there the whole time and I only just realized it now. My guess is from closing it with the bottom screen bezel as its right around that edge.

What level of damaged does it have to be to get it fixed? Like i said its minor, but it is BOTHERING ME TO NO END!
