Since I don't have a game yet, I have played around with all the other little games the 3DS has to offer. I was wondering what you guys think of those mini-games? To me Face Raiders and the AR Games have a lot more to offer that I first expected. You can even unlock new stuff! =D Can't really figure out how the 3DS Sound works... I mean, do I need to record all the sounds myself?

I love the AR games. I was surprised by the amount of content they have too. I loved archery 2. It took me 11 minutes to beat. I still got more to buy. These will easily keep me entertained for months! I love them.
The AR games are amazing. I loved letting my imagination run free with my Miis and Nintendo characters. Face Raiders is very...amusing, in a slightly disturbing way. It's scary how they can warp a person's face like that. I like it a lot, though. The 3DS camera, understandably, doesn't have varying degrees of 3D (becuase it's hard to do that with real life images in real time) but the pictures do come out okay, especially one with Miis in them. 3DS Sound isn't much different from DSi Sound at all, though I did like the new top screen effects that make use of the 3D function, and the ability to play MP3 files is a godsend.
If you do put some music on your SD and play it in Sound and then change what's on the top screen by tapping on the cord that hangs down, there are a couple mini games you can play with the circle pad and shoulder buttons. They're a little bit of fun, but probably not something you're going to want to play for more than a few minutes.
I really like what Nintendo has done with the channels this time around. The AR software shows off the 3D feature very nicely and screams Nintendo all over it. Instead of just saying "i'm only a chore my developers had to fulfill to show the features of the system.
The games are great,
spoiler the encounters with the dragon are amazing end of spoiler
and at least fishing gives you a reason to play it for hours upon hours. The only frustrating thing is not catching these big fish because they always rip my thread. I did manage to catch a

once though. So i thought i could catch the other big ones with the normal thread too. I've also tried to get over 500 points in timed mode to see if then i'll maybe get a thicker thread. But i'm not sure if i'll ever be able to get that score or catch all the other fishes. All in all i'd just wish all the games told me if it's worth going for better highscores. If there were any bonuses or achievements i'd be more motivated to play them again. It would help if i knew if these scores are exchanged when you meet someone in StreetPass too.
Out of the character cards i enjoyed looking at Link the most. It really shows off how plastic and spatial the 3D can get.
The graffiti AR and the 3DS Camera app really had me trying out everything. In comparison the camera app of the DSi didn't interest me much at all.
I still have to check out 3DS Sound, am not sure what the globe application did anymore and have to unlock one more AR app.
Face Raiders is the first game where i really thought about what i'll like my enemies to look like. It's soooo satisfying to choose their faces in such a game. And it's got some quite challenging levels there too. I can't wait to further try beating all of them.
I just got my 3DS and haven't bought a real game yet either. I've only had the built in stuff to play with too.
I was having a really hard time even getting the AR cards to work. The games kept cutting out whenever I would move the 3DS around to get a better view. The lighting in my bedroom must be terrible. Wasn't much fun for me the first few times.
The music player is kinda neat. I've never actually owned a portable MP3 player before so that's a plus. I've got an SD card full of songs in there now. I just wish the volume could go a little higher. Face raiders is fun for a little while I guess.

Face Raiders is so underrated. It is an awesome game. My most used title behind Pilotwings and M+L: Partners in Time.

The coolest thing about 3DS Sound is the streetpass functionality. I haven't walked past enough people with it enabled to get a "hit list" thing yet but I can still see it as a cool feature. After finishing Streetpass quest finding hits for 3DS sound is pretty much the only reason I'm still carrying my 3DS around everywhere. Oh, and I want to collect more Miis.
Face Raiders and AR Games are cool but they got old fairly quickly. It'd be nice if they were updated with new stuffs though.

Huh? To me, the 3DS Sound's streetpass was its most boring feature. The only thing I get to see is if we like songs from the same decade or how "compatible" we are. Whatever that means. You can't even listen to the music other people have on their streetpass music lists. It couldn't be any more fail, tbh.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

The 3DS volume is fine for me. The iPod Touch, now that has horrible volume, and only one speaker. WTF Apple? One speaker?
I noticed software on my 3DS takes up less space than it would on my iPod. I have an 8 GB card in my 3DS with over 15 DSiWare and 3DS games, along with a couple albums of songs, and I still have over 55,000 blocks left. Same thing with my Wii; I have over 20 WiiWare and VC games on an 8GB card, and I still have over 58,000 blocks left.
I put a few games and a few hundred songs on my 8GB iPod and it gets about half full.
I guess Nintendo does a better job at constricting file sizes than Apple does.

And can you go a little faster?!

It's like a mini-last.fm for streetpass. What's not to like?
I thought it was pretty cool.............

3ds sound: 7/10 you can store more sound clips on the sd card... waaay more! the dsi's one had only few slots so that was a plus.
3ds camera: 7/10 you can take 3d photos! what more can you want?!
Ar games: 8/10 they are fun and have cool gimmicks (i like gimmicks) and you can take pics with famous nintendo characters and miis! (btw, i'm a big fan of augmented reality! one of the main reasons i got a 3ds!)
Face raiders: 7/10 It's fun and I keep coming back for more rounds, it's fun to try to get a high score! Aand, it's augmented reality! (and it's cool how you can warp hand drawn faces to the game!)
@ Waveboy I remember they used to have an add on for the original Gameboy that would amplify the volume. It could get soo loud to the point of being annoying. That little start up ping when you first turn on the Gameboy would blow you through the wall. Maybe they could make something like that for 3DS.
