so i heard that A Link to the Past might get the 3d remake loving. i really hope so ALttP was and is one of my most favorite games of all time and if they make it, i'd buy a 3DS in an instant. anybody else hope so? and apparently it's Miamoto that wants this to get done, and according to several scources he usually gets his way. hopefully we'll hear more of this in the next couple of years.

@Corbs what do you mean by visually, as is full 3d? like stuff we have now? if so then thats what Miamoto is planning on doing full 3D ALttP. i'd like to see what they could come up with. Edit: i'd love to see this and the way i felt when i played my first 3D Zelda was not sure, i definitely love the 2D Zelda games waaay more, and i particularly disliked TP, but SS really got me going for it. i felt the same way about Metroid, i prefer the 2D games, though i like the Prime trilogy.
They aren't talking about a full 3D remake, they are considering it for the 3D Classics series. Unless you have heard a different interview than I have.
i heard he wanted to completely overhaul the game into 3D, if they wanted it for 3D classic that wouldn't take very long at all. putting it into full 3D would take quite awhile. he was talking about giving the same treatment as OoT. same with a possible MM.

I heard they were talking about taking the game's layers and making them pop out. Do you have a link to the interview you read? Here are the quotes I have read:
“I think A Link To The Past,” he says. “Do you remember Xevious? It’s two-layered and I really wanted to create that at the time. So to see Link To The Past in two layers would be quite attractive for me.”
“Well actually, even Mr. Miyamoto himself has been talking recently about going back to the 2D Zelda games in particular the ones that were designed with multiple levels to the world like A Link to the Past, and taking those 2D graphics and recreating them in 3D so that you could get a sense for the depth of those worlds. That’s something that might be interesting to do, so I would say there might be a possibility of something like that in the future.”
A lot of the people who reported these interviews did a terrible job and misrepresented what was said, when I first read them I also thought they meant a full 3D remake, but when I looked at the actual quotes they sound like they are referring to making it as a 3D Classic.

I don't think he meant putting it in three dimensions like Ocarina. He implied more that he wanted to update the visuals so that the 3DS's 3D works great with the game. I don't want it to be in full 3D because that would involve making an entirely new game out of an old one. I wouldn't mind a 3D classics release with updated visuals.

a link to the past with 3d graphics like ocarina would be very interesting and quite fun. i think that would be really awesome! AND they could include the original top down on the game card in 3d. sell it for $30-$35 and they can have my money!

I'd buy it on the 3D Classics for sure, but if we're talking about a full blown remake, I don't want that, I'd rather they put the time and money that would be used for that into the new LoZ that is being made specifically for 3DS.
@KittyKatMeow i'm not sure where i read it i read 1 of them on IGN. But i have also heard that Miamoto is a victim of poor translation. maybe i took it the wrong way. either way any kind of work/remake/touch up would be nice. though yes, a complete remake would be very different, i'd like to see ALttP in full 3D. but hten again i memorized the game in 2D and i might end up hating it. if they did a touch up job and sorta reworked the graphics while still in 2D but 3D on the 3DS would make it look better, i'd like that too. i guess we'll all have to wait and see.

A remake of ALTTP sounds awesome Just keep the top-down view and add full 3D graphic remake. Pretty much how it looked in Phantom Hourglass except not at an angle; just straight down view and it would be great. With the depth the 3D has to offer it would be frekkin awesome. I was convinced how great an idea that was when I first saw Super Mario 3D land world 5-2 in 3D.... IT WAS INCREDIBLE!. For those of you who have the game, you know what I'm talking about. For those who don't or can't remember check out the vid below.
Yes? no? Maybe with a little less zoom, but this vid gets the idea across.
