Topic: 3D Excitebike isn't shown in a 3D perspective

Let me start by explaining what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about stereoscopic 3d. I'm playing on a 2DS XL so even if I wasn't legally blind in one eye, I certainly wouldn't expect to see that on an iteration of the 3DS that doesn't even support the feature.

What I'm talking about is how Excitebike was rebuilt into a 3D game. Notice on this video I've linked below how the starting pylon above the track changes as it scrolls across the screen, how the ramps change as they move across the screen, etc. Perhaps "2.5D" is an even better way to phrase the presentation that I'm talking about with how this 2D classic was altered with a 3D presentation.

I really liked how it was a NES game rebuilt into 3D like that, so I bought it last night as part of my last round of 3DS purchases. Yet all I have is essentially the NES game expanded to widescreen with fancier backdrops and some added parallax scrolling. None of the track elements show perspective shifts as they scroll across the screen like I'm seeing in that video.

Did Nintendo really restrict the fancier presentation to only when stereoscopic 3d is enabled? Or am I missing some setting that triggers it? All I see is a 3D option with five levels with the default being the middle setting. I've switched it to the lowest and highest settings with no change, so that particular option presumably only affects the stereoscopic 3d presentation.

Yeah. Sorry about that, the perspective shifts only occur when you turn on the 3D on on a 3DS system. As far as I know, there isn't any way to do that on a 2DS system.

Your first anything is important; a memory you don't want to forget. That's what makes nostalgia such a fascinating concept. That's why many people enjoy games that have aged well.

That stinks, but thanks for confirming that indeed is how Nintendo set it up.

I didn't think that I missed anything like a menu setting that I hadn't already tried, but I was hoping just maybe that I had.
