What is the 3D classics theme? What's so bad about it D:

I thought it was alright when I got excitebike for free, kind of annoying. But then I realised they use it in every 3D Classic. Kind of a mood killer before the much more different music of Kirby or Kid icarus that are on the next menu.

i find the classic theme just ok.

but on the other hand the 3d classic credits song is just pure epicness `! I really enjoy it and would love it in a music player somehow ...

hey folks,
how long has it taken to get the kid icarus code for you? From the time when you entered your email for the code until it was sent to the box ? Im looking forward to play this gem for the first time ....
Ah and did you have the option to participate into the special 3Ds lottery ? How do you get that opportunity ?!

My first impression of Kid Icarus:

S'ard.

It's very easy to get yourself killed. Just by tapping down on a platform you can drop to your death, and (I think) if you get hurt on a platform then you'll drop down also. Certain enemy patterns, such as the Grim Reaper's minions, have quite unpredictable flight patterns, and rooms full of those bug things will likely whomp you the first time you enter then.

But with steely determination, you gradually learn the level and get used to the strange enemy activity, and gradually overcome it using new and refined tactics. And that's how I like my games. I'm only a few levels in, and I heard things get interesting soon, so if I can put down Pokemon Black for a few seconds then I'll surely trump the game.

I think I got mine one or two days after I registered my e-mail. And don't worry, when you register you'll be entered into the lottery automatically! I hope...

I have to say this game is just amazing. From the nice new backgrounds ( how could they play it in the past with just blackness ?!) to the amazing music , to the cute animations. Everything fits well and is aged very good really. This game looks like metroid and zelda2 had a prettier more addicting and demanding daughter !!!

So at start you have to get used to it especially the pacing , patience and grinding hearts. But then it plays like a breeze.

Even when i finally felt at home in kid icarus the adventure was already over ! Nice little thrill. Kirbys adventure was longer but kid icarus was somehow more addicting and appealing.
So 9 of 10 seems fair. From now on those first four released 3d classic from last year seem like trash in comparison. Sad that nintendo cant just reset their 3D classic developement and do kid icarus as first and then as followups more benefical classics.
so thats all from me , greets

Looks like this is coming out for the U.S. tomorrow or sometime soon. I'm having my Kid Icarus 3DS retail game shipped to me on release day (tomorrow, the 23rd of March) and I know it includes a code to download the 3D Classics Kid Icarus game for free (for North Americans, as far as I know, at least.) So this game should be available tomorrow (or very soon at least) to the U.S. e-shop. !

HeroOfCybertron

Besides the preorder bonus for Uprising GameStop is also selling the DLC code 3D Classics Kid I carus for $5.99, I tried buy it yesterday but the computer wouldn't let the guy sell it so he said come back tomorrow.

So 3D classics Kid Icarus is a GameStop exclusive (at least for now since I don't think it's on the NA eshop for purchase yet) even though it is a downloadable game never heard of that before.

I'm playing it right now, actually. I got the email from Amazon where I purchased Kid Icarus (which is on the way as we speak and being delivered) I just downloaded the game a couple of hours ago with the code included in the email. IT's amazing! So I'm playing old Kid Icarus before the new one arrives. Feels just like when I was a kid, but looks way better I can confirm that when I checked the e-shop this morning it was NOT available for purchase. So it appears to be just a free game (for now) when you purchase Kid Icarus: Uprising (or preordered it for delivery on release day and got the code today in an email.) I just got mine from Amazon so I'm sure others have, as well. The game downloaded fast (118+ in size) onto my SD card.

I think they did a good job to make it look nicer without having the game be different entirely. The backgrounds make it look less like you're in some kind of back room and more in an actual stage. The new voice file for the banshee is nice.

I haven't gotten very far.

So they're using the original Japanese sound file? Because the game was released on a cart in the west, rather than on a disc with more memory as in Japan, several changes were made. The removal of save files was another one of them. I guess that means the final level works as in the Japanese version as well. Anyone who has made it there? Does the level auto-scroll?

The level scrolls as you ascend, if that's what you mean.

That's about where I am. (Honestly, I have no idea how I'll get through the first fortress)

Played it, beaten it, I love myself. This game has boosted my interest in gaming once more, as i've lately slumpt in the amount of games i've beaten in the last few months, because i've been unwell (as in cancer) since the beginning of january, where I got to the point where I was so disinterested in my 3DS and gaming in general.
But now I feel revitalised and Kid Icarus was a challenging, yet fun game to beat and i haven't had this much challenge since my very first play through of Super Mario Bros., which I first played on my Wii's VC. Yet though it got much easier, as i'm sure most of you have played and it was still a blast, especially when it came to defeating Medusa.

So sorry to hear you are dealing with cancer, but happy that 3D Classics Kid Icarus could bring a little light into your life. Pretty tough game, huh? As a little kid playing this when it was released I was actually battling a cancerous tumor, so your story touched me.. I remember thinking "this is too hard to play" and so I started playing Zelda 2 at the time instead. lol Thanks for sharing...
