Competition: Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS) Giveaway
Win a 3DS and a copy of Paper Mario: Sticker Star! (UK residents only)
To celebrate the launch of Paper Mario: Sticker Star we've teamed up with Nintendo to bring you a very special Letter Box competition. Up for grabs is a brand new 3DS XL Console with a copy of Paper Mario: Sticker Star, wahoo! Two runners up will also receive a copy of the game; this is for UK residents only.
To win, all you have to do is send us a creative Nintendo Letter Box message from your 3DS; it should be related to Paper Mario and can be as simple as a sketch, or as much as a four page comic strip. It's all about being creative and witty, with the most entertaining letters likely to catch our eye. To enter simply fill in the form and submit your 3DS friend code, and if you are one of the first 100 entrants we'll then email you our contest friend code. You'll have to enter our friend code, pair up with our system and send your letter within 24 hours of us emailing you; if you take too long we'll give your slot to the next entrant in line. Once we receive your letter we'll reply to confirm that you've been accepted in the competition. After that you can submit as many attempts as you like until Wednesday, 5th December, though only your final letter will be considered. The winners will be announced on Friday, 7th December.
Please Note: we can only accept 100 entries, this is on a first come, first served basis.

Good luck all
Work today is cancelled. I gotta think of a good entry...
Good Luck UK residents~
Ah well. UK only. Anyway, somebody from NL better win the thing. Make us all proud!
Cool, too bad I just got the game yesterday and is awesome by the way.
It's UK only...I'll ask a friend to send this to me then!
Well, the Paper Mario stationary will be really handy right now.
Good luck everyone!
@Tymek It's region locked.
@3Dash
Another one? *Slaps Nintendo O_O
Good luck everyone!!
Too bad 3DS is region-locked!
I've entered. Looks fun!
darn! UK only! and to think i actually clicked on this post ]:<
@3Dash What?
@SanderEvers You are right.
@SanderEvers Nintendo UK are supplying the prizes on this occasion, so it is their decision where they would like to send the prizes.
We do run competitions for Europe, North America and beyond every now and then. You guys will get your chance another time
@Dazza
Okay then!
I already got the game yesterday (but have to wait until Christmas to play), good luck to those who entered
@SheldonRandoms
HOW DID YOU GET IT?
...You..don't have a 3DS!
Aww man, it's for the UK only... I would have entered if I could
Good luck fellow Brits.
@Tymek Region-locked means if you put a cartridge froom UK into your North American or wherever you are's 3DS your 3DS won't play it... unless you have a UK 3DS.
why only uk???
@3Dash I know what it means, I mean, isn't an UK 3DS an an EU 3DS aswell?
@Tymek I went to Gamestop and bought it, and I also have a 3DS
@3Dash: He/She lives in Netherlands (at least according to his/her profile) which is part of Europe so UK games work on his/her 3DS.
Darn it, I have no WiFi at uni... If only you made this competition yesterday when I was at home... I'll try when I get home on Friday, but all the places will probably be gone by then.
Anyone been contacted for friend code swap?
Not contacted here. Pretty sure I was first of the mark too. Obviously that meant nothing!
@Tsuchiya we've not contacted anybody yet! We'll update this thread once we send out the first batch of emails. Patience
Great !

What come next ?... oh I know, demos that are only for US...
Thank you

@owais238
Wait for your email if you're one of the lucky ones!
@Late That's right.
And, I'm a male.
Hope i got it sent on time...
Why is it always for UK residents only.
Yea, why? I was about to make a comeback due to me missing out on the Paper Mario: Sticker Star competition last week. Please make one for US.
Entered over an hour ago. Finished my letter. Just waiting for the Friend Code, unless all entrants have been decided already! =(
Europe residents only D: D: D: D: D: D:
Awesome competetion. Can't wait to see the results.
I hope I get chosen.
My Entry is ready!
I will get a friend to send it to me from the UK.
Damn, UK only...
I hope you make a Portugal only competition someday
Here's hoping I'm actually in the first 100 entrants!!
I entered my 3DS friend code into the box above, but the article suggests there was a form I was supposed to fill in? Did I miss something?
I also got a message stating 'Thanks for entering! Your entry has been counted. Please wait until we reveal the winner.' So I assume I've been accepted as one of the 100 participants.
I hope I get through and good luck to all contestants in the UK.
Nice giveaway.. Too bad it's UK only Good luck every1!
Ok, so do I need to wait for an email which contains your 3ds friend code as well?
i dont get it. if this is UK only, why are the brits in the comment section wishing the others good luck? isnt that supposed to be exactly what they dont want eachother to have?
So you need a 3ds to win a 3ds?
AWWWW YEAH!
...........
"Uk residents only*
BROOKLYN RAGE!
@catsrnice yep. That is how I won my toad 3ds.
EDIT: Damn only just noticed the UK residents only. I am just across the pond. :<
POOOOOOOP :'c So many UK contests! You guys are gunna make me move so I can have a chance!! D:
U.K. only (and I've been wanting both of these prizes for a while...) Oh well, good luck to all.
Oh whoops. I read this was UK only right when I submit. Ignore that.
Good luck UK residents! Oh how I envy you!
Man It's only for UK and the 3DS is region locked!
Well all i can say good luck UK residents!
Good Luck UK residents!
I got so excited when I saw this... then I read UK residents only. >_<
Best of luck to all the UK residents!
Mine is done
@Nazz I believe so yes. That's what i;m waiting for anyway =)
Well, poo.
I'll be missing out. I don't live in the UK, huge bummer.
Awww. I'd want it just for the box. Looks cool. A
I'm in the UK but don't have a 3ds to be able to enter.
Entered, but no email through just yet so hoping I got in on time.
@0LD_SK0OL_PUNK
It's called good sportsmanship. Try it some time
It's nice.
Awww. UK only
I wasn't accepted...
I live in the UK... Iowa, United Kingdom. GOD DANGIT!
I've submitted my friend code, do I wait for an email or something now?
@3DS_excel yup, just wait for our email. So far everyone who has entered from the UK will have a place in the comp. We haven't sent out any emails with our friend code yet.
There are about 20 places left, so be sure to submit your friends code today if you are a UK resident
Luckily my BF lives in the UK, I'll get it delivered to him if I win anything.
Hopefully I'm part of those 20 left!
Thanks for the reply Dazza
''To enter simply fill in the form and submit your 3DS friend code, and if you are one of the first 100 entrants we'll then email you our contest friend code.''
I didn't see any form, only asked to log in and enter my friend code, is that right?
@RpgN
It says in your profile that you're from the Netherlands correct? It's UK only so if your BF is from the UK get him to enter as I'm not sure you yourself can.
Unless of course you live in the UK with him in which case, shut up Tsuchi
@RpgN - the bit where you enter your friend code is all you need to do to enter. As the competition explains, we are only accepting entries from UK residents. Our system can detect the region by IP Address when someone enters the competition, so only readers based in the UK will be eligible to enter. Someone in the Netherlands cannot enter the competition and pass on the prize.
There are about 15 places left now
Just entered, Paper Mario is something I'd have trouble blowing £40 on, so a free copy would be lush. The bigger screens of the XL would be uber sexy too...
EDIT: It's actually nice for a change to get a UK based competition, loads of the big gaming journo sites always stick exclusively with NA for competitions.
Not in the UK, but wouldn't enter anyways. This game was just too disappointing for me, and way too indicative of Nintendo's recent shenanigans.
Never entered a Nintendo Life competition before, so hopefully I got in just in time!
@Dazza
Question, does the entry have to be a Swapnote based drawing, or can we draw something in Colors 3D then put it into the Swapnote message?
Atleast I'm currently in a contest to win a Yellow Pikachu 3DS XL!!!
@ScreenSplitter
"To win, all you have to do is send us a creative Nintendo Letter Box message from your 3DS"
Since Colors! 3D isn't mentioned anywhere, then I'll go with no. I believe it's just a letter (upto 4 pages) than must be submitted by those who have the NL FC sent via email.
It's amazing. People asking what to do when it's explained at the top of the article you're commenting on! If you entered it in time, then best of luck
@Tsuchiya
You can send pictures, and in turn Colors 3D pictures created through Nintendo Letter Box. It really is amazing people wanting to know the terms of a contest they're entering...?
@ScreenSplitter
I know you can but it's not mentioned here in the competition requirements.
It states the word letter so I'm sure they mean just that. If NL wanted Colors!3D entries then presumably they would say so but maybe they could clarify this.
@ScreenSplitter we'd rather have submissions created 100% using Nintendo Letter Box. You should be able to show off your creativity without the need for other apps
There are still a few places in the comp left if anyone in the UK hasn't entered yet.
I just entered now.
@Dazza
Ah fair enough. Remind me again how you unlock features for Nintendo Letter Box... play coins right? I'll practice tonight and get walking tomorrow to unlock colors!
WHY NINTENDO! WHY WITH THE REGION LOCKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck
"UK only"
Heard that? That's the sound of my broken heart on the distance.
Good luck everyone!
@Tsuchiya
@Dazza
Thanks for clearing things up. That's a huge bummer but there might be other opportunities next time. Good luck to all the UK residents!
UK only. . . UH, too bad.
Uh, why is everyone complaining about region locking? You still can't enter the contest even if you had a region-free 3DS. Region locking doesn't change anything in this contest
Really? why not make it world wide. like all the way to Puerto Rico? My irish cousins will probably send it to me if they win. I HAS A REGION FREE 3DS
Uhm, has anyone actually received the email with the friend code yet?
Nope, still waiting. At first I lamented a fact that they didn't state when they'd send you letters but given that they had no idea at the start when they'd reach 100 entrants and thus, presumably, start sending the letters out, i guess that was rather tricky.
Ah well, remain patient. I'm sure they haven't forgotten. =)
How much longer until we get that email?
@Nazz Now!
Received my email today.
Do you plan on showcasing the winning entries on the site?
I was wondering the same thing. The not knowing is the hard part, lol.
@PixelatedPixie Exactly! Plus, I'd really like to see some other peoples ideas.
Oh, and if I haven't won, I wonna know so I can pick up the game ASAP.
@BlockPunch - Yeah same here. At this point I can assume I wasn't amongst the top 3 as I did not receive an email yesterday, so I'm going to go ahead and order my copy today. It's a shame there wasn't a more elegant way for participants to find out whether or not they won something.
@PixelatedPixie ^This^
