If you're into the latest social media trends you might have heard about a small platform called TikTok. Jokes aside, The Pokémon Company has now opened an official account - specifically in Japan.
The plan is to "deliver an even closer" pocket monster experience to fans. To start the channel, videos of Pikachu dancing have been uploaded. You can also see the special banner (below).
The catch, once again, is that it appears to be region-locked - so unless you're located in Japan, or resort to certain other methods, you likely won't be able to see videos from this account.
Pokémon TikTok will join various other official social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
In somewhat related news, next week The Pokémon Company will air a special Nintendo Direct-style Pokémon Presents on 18th August. It will feature news about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Would you be interested in following a Pokémon TikTok account? Do you even use this platform? Tell us down below.

Oh, please... No. 🤦♂
Tik Tok will ruin everything.
@Anti-Matter Forget the fact the world’s literally burning, it’s videos of Pikachu twerking that will ruin everything.
Hey kids, we’re cool and totally hip, right? Are you ready for some rad memes, about totally groovy pokemans? Don’t worry, we are very lit, um, er, dawg.
"Hello fellow kids" is all I see here and I am just sighing in the corner wishing I didnt follow the click bait.
As long as it isn't a twerking Pikachu...
@nessisonett they did not need tictok for that, given that they already put that in the whole hitchhicking bit from journey's episode 30...

I’m honestly more surprised to hear they didn’t already have one!
I am not digging this Raboot hole that TPCi keeps wandering deeper and deeper into.
missed opportunity by not making a parody version called Klinklang
@Longondo nice profile pic! I love missle!
You want a TicTac?
It might just be that I'm getting old, but TikTok seems to me like the worst mainstream app/website currently on the Internet.
This could be either good or very extremely bad.
