Bandai Namco has revealed that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be receiving not one, not two, but three free updates on Nintendo Switch. What do you mean, "the article title already gave that away"?
The first of these three updates comes in the form of a 'FighterZ Tournament' - a brand new online tournament mode featuring several new match rules. Ths tournament will culminate in a final eight-player bracket, with the winners and runners-up of each tournament receiving special rewards and Z Trophies which can be displayed in their Z Trophy Room.
This mysterious Z Trophy Room is the second of the three features, with rooms being unique to each player. Players will gain Z Trophies that can be showcased in their Z Trophy Rooms, as well as with their Lobby Avatars and more, and players can then visit the Z Trophy Rooms of others or invite their friends to show off their own collections. Nice. Both of these new features go live today.
The third update is set to arrive on 5th December and will feature a variety of new festive-themed avatars and colour variations. Characters including Vegeta, Trunks, Tien and Android 18 will have Santa Claus themed avatars, with Krillin and Buu dressed as a reindeer and snowman respectively. A new Christmas colour set, featuring red, green, and gold, will also be available for all characters.
You can see some of the new content for yourself in this brand new trailer below:
So, more content, no extra cost. Sounds good to us! Will you be diving into the new goodies on offer today? Let us know with a comment.

Sounds good but it is pretty basic stuff.
I was excited there for a moment. Oh well, anything free is good... I guess
Looks awesome but I generally can’t get in to fighting games only smash.
Thank goodness Namco are not morons like 2K Games, new updates should release equally among all platforms instead of you know waiting for another week or two to release the same holiday theme contents later than the other platforms when the holiday is already over.
Not quite enough to pull me back in. Although the game is so great I’ll be revisiting it soon anyway I’m sure.
I'm nabbing this one with the season pass this Christmas. I flipping loved the online demo when that was out. Free stuff is always welcome.
These sound good but I'd reaaaaally like another round of DLC with Roshi, Jiren, Toppo and Kefla at least!
Best fighting game on the Switch.
I picked up this game during Walmart's Black Friday sale. Haven't had a chance to play it yet. Glad it's getting another update.
@Gen0neD Warframe is.
Man what I would do to have that Tournament Mode on-cart right now.
That game has been a blast for me when I have friends over, and that would been keen for the get-togethers.
give us android 21 in a santa outfit.
@the_beaver Indeed. No argument here
Not big on fighting games, but I dig Bandai Namco giving free updates to their games. Shows dedication to their games and their players. Good job.
