Inertia Software is bringing Catastronauts to the Switch, it has been announced.
Described as a "fast-paced multiplayer action game", Catastronauts is a bit like Overcooked - but this time around you're attempting to keep your spaceship together while taking down enemy craft. It's also coming to PS4 and Xbox One.
Here's some PR:
Gather your friends and join the illustrious Space Fleet in this fast-paced party game!
Can you deal with unrelenting disaster and hold your ship together long enough to destroy the enemy invaders? Repair systems, extinguish fires, arm the torpedoes, avoid deadly solar flares, destroy your friends and clone them back again; it's all in the life of a Catastronaut!

This looks like FTL: Faster Than Light, but as a multiplayer action game rather than a roguelike RPG/strategy game.
I'd rather have FTL, but this will do.
So, was that Overheat (Overcooked in Space) ?
Surely at this point devs have to stop naming things -onauts? Seems like we have a million games and game-related brands with that naming convention by now.
Just a pet peeve of mine is all. Game looks cool!
@ricklongo
Actually, i prefer "Overheat" as the title than "Catastronauts".
Literally, the Astronouts can get burnt by Fire.
I hated the overcooked space levels so I'll pass haha. In all seriousness though it looks like a nice multiplayer game.
This place should be called Nindielife
@ricklongo "-naut" suffix has root in Ancient Greek, it used to mean "voyager" or "sailor". One of the most famous adventurer group from the myths were the Argonauts, or "the sailors of Argo"; Herakles/Hercules was one of them.
Although I bet most people know the name from "astronaut" and Russian-based "cosmonaut" and make a connection there. Especially here, since the game takes place in space.
I have to agree though, the name sounds super clunky.
This looks great. Might have to buy to play with my wife.
Crossplay?
Still currently streaming Overcooked but if this game is anything like it, me and my friends'll be all over it!
Honestly I would appericiate a little more article to go along with the video. Can't always watch videos, especially at work or on mobile.
Though I admit I should probably not be on this site at work. lol
