Team17 has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming pinball-platformer Yoku's Island Express, showing off some of the abilities that will available to you as you play.
As Yoku the dung beetle, you'll be bouncing your way around Mokumana Island pinball-style as you attempt to save the world and deliver the mail (which we assume is the goal for most postal workers). You can see all of the goodness in action in the video above, and you can also check out this handy selection of abilities below.
There are many quirky hidden abilities and collectibles to discover including:
- The Noisemaker, a party whistle that acts as Yoku’s postal horn
- The Slug Vacuum, capable of sucking up the pesky slugs that litter the island and utilising their explosive power to clear stubborn rocks and reveal new routes to explore
- Take the plunge with the Dive Fish, which will allow Yoku to dive the depths of the island
- & more!
Yoku's Island Express will be flipping its way to the Nintendo Switch in Q2 2018. Does this trailer have you excited for the game's release? Let us know down in the comments.

Donkey Kong Country meets pinball. Looks solid.
so a game about a dung beetle?
Y'all know I'm a sucker for cute things, and this is adorable.
This one's at the top of my list for Spring.
This game looks like it's going to be buggy and full of crap.
Who else read the headline as "Yoshi's Island" at first glance?
This game has me intrigued with its unique mixture of platformer and pinball.
Looks cool
I like the look of this. Reminds me of loco roco a bit. Hope this is as charming as it looks
Looks fun....interested!
I swear down I had this idea about 15 years ago - looks fun, will be keeping a jealous eye on it
I have not be as excited for an indie since Golf Story... This combines two of my favorite video game genres (pinball and platformers) just like GS did (with RPG and Golf). I really hope this turns out to be good.... Can't wait!!!
Must buy.
@FinalFrog So you don’t have a Switch then?
@FinalFrog There’s no reason to be ridiculously defensive. I was asking a simple question so calm down. So I gotta ask you this...how is the 3DS more portable than the Switch, which is also portable? Is it just because the 3DS is a bit smaller in size? Please explain. If this game is coming out for the Switch, you can be pretty sure that it will not be coming out for the 3DS because the Switch is already portable. By the way, I do have a 3DS, but I realized that the Switch is a great system that is going to get a lot of support and new games that my 3DS won’t get, which is going on 7 years old. Your comment suggests that you do not own a Switch because you are wishing the game would come to the 3DS. Thus the simple question...do you have one or not? And if so, why wouldn’t you prefer to play this new game on the Switch?
@FinalFrog Certainly seems that way. You still haven’t stated if you have a Switch or not. And if you do, why wouldn’t you want to play this game on that system, which is also portable, with a much better screen than the 3DS?
