This Time, It’s All About Luigi

Celebrate the Year of Luigi as the green-hatted hero takes center stage in his first starring role in a platform adventure. Players can show off their skills as Luigi, complete with his trademark high jump and unique slide, as they experience more than 80 new courses set in the world of New Super Mario Bros. U.

  • New Super Luigi U will be released as downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U in the Nintendo eShop on June 20 for $19.99. But in honor of the Year of Luigi, Nintendo is also offering a standalone packaged version of New Super Luigi U that doesn’t require New Super Mario Bros. U on Aug. 25 at a suggested retail price of $29.99.
  • Experience high replayability and satisfaction from mastering more than 80 intense new courses. Each course contains a reduced time limit and a higher concentration of enemies and obstacles.
  • Up to five players can jump into the fun, with Nabbit taking the place of Mario as a playable character. Nabbit cannot use power-ups, but is invincible to enemies and obstacles, making him an ideal choice for novice players.
  • Share triumphs with the community via the Miiverse feature.
  • Play using a Wii Remote controller, the Wii U GamePad controller or a Wii U Pro Controller.

New Super DLC for U

So, what is New Super Luigi U? It's not straight-up DLC, nor is it sizable enough to justify a full price retail game, so Nintendo has opted for a best of both worlds approach; it's available as either pricey DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U or as an...

I'm pretty excited about this. I can't get enough Luigi. ;)

I have a feeling the boxed version may become a collector's item.

Awesome downloadable game, well worth the 20 bucks extra. Pretty challenging too, although the worlds are much shorter. File size is between 700 and 800 mb, about half the size of NSMB-U; sorry I don't have the exact figure off the top of my head.

This is the best DLC that i have got for any game. it basiclly redoes the whole game with more challenging Luigi themed levels, redoes the physics to fit for Luigi like jumping higher and fluttering and running faster but harder to stop. and the best part about it is it is only 20$ for what would almost be worth a full retail game. This is what DLC should be.

I am a newly returning Nintendo custom, it's been a long time since my days of being a little kid and playing Mario on my Super Nintendo, Super Luigi is only my second game for the Wii U and i already find my self being annoyed with it, i find the 5 life's thing pointless and that there is no need for life's at all, i also find it very annoyed this once you run out of life's you start all the way back at the start and have to redo the Missions you have already beat. I don't know if this is also so after you beat a castle, if it sends you back to the very start or just back to the last Castle you beat. I find this to be Very annoying & discouraging as a newly returning customer back into the Nintendo World, it makes it very hard for me to just sit down after a long day and hop into a game easily, it makes it hard to find time to be able to sit down for the prolonged time needed to beat a whole section of the game at once. why can't it be like the old day's were when you beat a mission that was it you were done with that one and if you died on the next then you just retry till you got it not having to redo all that you did to get to that mission...i hope all the new Mario type games are not like this or i think ill quickly find my self buying a X Box One and Shelfing my new Wiii U.
