Mother (NES)

Game Profile

First release in the Mother series (Earthbound in North America) and was actually localized for release on the NES system as Earthbound. It would later be cancelled and Nintendo instead chose to release the sequel, Mother 2 on the Super Famicom as our Earthbound release on the Super Nintendo console.

I love the first one more than the Second. I am hoping I can get a Repro. cart soon, but at the moment I can enjoy it on my DS thanks to Mother 1 + 2.

@Electricmastro You've played games on Vizzed before? I used to be staff. XD

Either way, this game is fantastic (8/10) but takes only 2-4 weeks to beat if you get good at it.

Rated the #9 best famicom game ever.
I really ought to play the first in the series, I've beaten Earthbound 3 times and Mother 3 7 or 8 times in Japanese.

I hope that this is the game remade in the series if Itoi only remakes/re-releases one of them,

This one is tough to recommend. It's difficult and ambiguous and not exactly polished looking, like a lot of early RPGs. I enjoy it though, even beyond my duty as an Earthbound fan.

One of the few Famicom RPG that I actually enjoy.
Granted, I played the GBA (Mother 1+2) version, but it's literally the same, with a better translation.

EarthBound Zero sounds pretty awesome. It's like the time I heard "Mega Man Zero." It sounds awesome. I would love to see this on the Virtual Console, but I hardly doubt it. If this game comes for the Virtual Console, then Nintendo would have no excuse not to put the Fire Emblem games on the 3DS and Wii U Virtual Consoles as well.
