Topic: Mario Kart Wii Online Play

So I haven't played my Wii in a year or so. I started playing it a lot recently and realized Nintendo killed online play (for shame, Nintendo). I didn't like all the cheating, but I wouldn't mind playing some real people.

I have a friend with a Wii & Mario Kart. Any way to link our Wii's over the Internet and play together?

Anyway to (sneaky sneaky) get regular online multi-player to work?

not to my knowledge. btw nintendo was using a server host called game spy to run mario kart wii. they went out of business and nintendo chose to let their online die rather than move everything over to their new servers. this is why cod black opps still has online. activision refused to use the same service and hosted it on their own servers

Actually it was a smart move by Nintendo not to continue the service. Now they can focus everything on the Wii U.

Such a bunch of crap. I bought my Wii only a couple years ago at the tail end of the cycle when Skyward Sword came out (still haven't played). Sucks I can't play online.

I doubt Wii online was at the expense of Wii U online. Microsoft and Sony seem to handle both just fine.
