This is one of my favorite games. Everything about it is just fun, even to the point that I would willingly grind for fun just cause it was so simple. It's a shame Falcom never brought over the TG16 version of IV, that one looked fun.

I didn't like the PSP version nearly as much, though. It lost some of the charm and the TG16 music.

I've done a lot of the tower, I just don't know where to go next.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I like it. I've beaten the first part but never did get around to beating the second one.

Also absolutely awesome is Oath in Felghana (available on PSP and through Steam), which is a remake/reimagining of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys. Highly reccomended.

Agreed. I have that one and thought that it was a lot better than the original Ys III.

Jesus is the only way.
It's OK to have an opinion. This ain't the Soviet Union you know.

You should totally play the second half. The game shakes it up a bit.

Are you at the part where you need to find the hidden door, or did you pass that?

I noticed there is a remake of Y's Book I & II on DS it looks quite nice on youtube videos

If you can, go for the PSP version instead. It was handled by Falcom themselves, whereas the DS one was handled by a 3rd party.

I do not have a PSP but I just pre order the games through STEAM

PC Oath in Felghana... now there's a game with a little history in the retro game scene.
So, the guy who TRANSLATED the script to that game, as well as the PSP version originally did it for an unlicensed fanmade translation mod of the PC version before he quit the fan-translations scene on relatively good terms, and was later hired to translate the game legit.
But the (other) guy who PROGRAMMED that unofficial mod, VERY ANGRILY left "the scene" after a huge backlash from fans after he (the programming guy) decided to charge for his unauthorized mod.
While it's safe to say this Steam release is a completely legal release... still gotta wonder if it's related to the "fan" version (other than the same script writer).
(although Ys I & II were also earlier fanslated by the same team, Falcom remade them multiple times on PC so it may or may not even be the same version that's on Steam)

I've purchased Y's I & II Chronicles (pre order), Y's III Oath in Felghana and Y's Origin on STEAM.

Regarding the USB Gamepad the game automatically detects it when it is plugged (sorry I am a first time user of STEAM)
