So, I recently bought Perfect Dark on the XBLA. Obviously, the best part of the game is the Combat Simulator (PD's multiplayer mode). I'd go into detail as to how it works and what makes it so great, but really, if you're here you should know. However, I will say one thing. There is an option to "save settings" thus creating your own "game mode".
For example, I created a mode I call "Zombie Mode". In it, there are 8 yellow FistSims. The weapons are pistols, shotguns and of course the laptop gun. The FistSims rush you and attack with their fists, almost always disarming you if they hit you, and with 8 of them continually spawning, it really does look like a zombie invasion. The goal is to get 100-400 kills within 10 minutes. If you get the kills, you win, if you don't, the zombies do. I played it by myself and getting that 100 kills is incredibly difficult. It really feels like, say, L4D on a smaller scale. There is almost ALWAYS a zombie near you. You could hold out in a certain location, but eventually the zombies WILL make it past, and you do need to get the kills, so staying in one spot and waiting for them isn't a good idea.
What I want to know is: What are some of the custom game modes you created?

Back when it first came out, I used to play the game a lot with my cousin, and we both got really good at it. We created a game with two DarkSims and only tranquilizers and a Falcon 2. That was one of the toughest matches I've ever played. I still play it fairly often, as it's still one of my favorite games of all time, but I'm not good enough now to do that match I created with my cousin back in 2001
I clocked over 2 weeks in game on PD's multiplayer... awesome, awesome stuff Anyway! As for custom game modes, it was always fun to play against Dark PeaceSims. They tend to cloak themselves, but you can help them by putting the cloaking device as an item. Try to kill a certain number within a time limit - you're lucky to get a shot off before one takes your weapon!
note: In case you hadn't noticed or didn't know, the DarkSims are able to cloak, teleport, walk through walls and fly
That actually sounds like fun! I might have to do that when I unlock DarkSims. Speaking of, how do you unlock DarkSims?

I'm afraid I don't remember how you unlock them ^^; I remember that more of the Combat Simulator becomes available the more of the game you complete (completing the single player game, gold medals in target range, combat simulator challenges, etc). I'm not sure, but I think you need to complete the single player game to unlock DarkSims. If not, then one of the Combat Simulator challenges. There's likely one in which DarkSims first appear, and completing that will unlock them. I got Perfect Dark on launch, so its been a few years and my memory is a bit patchy ^^; ...my main memories are the hours and hours of awesome gaming, rather than the initial unlocking-everything-stage (which is also awesome)
I beg to differ ... god damned challenges are frustrating D: Will I still unlock things from the challenges if I play them in co-op?

I think you have to beat all the multiplayer challenges to unlock DarkSims. If I remember correctly. Or maybe it's just a certain number of challenges.
Yep. Got my DarkSims now. I tried your mode, Klapaucius. It was pretty fun. They didn't steal my weapons as much as I expected, but when they did, it was next to impossible to get another weapon I was also playing on a large stage (Temple) so that might be why they didn't take my weapons as much as I expected.

Yeah, Complex is good fun. I hated it in Goldeneye, but it just seems so much less confusing in PD for some reason. My favorite will always be Facility, though. Or Felicity. Why they changed it to that is beyond me :/
