Blasphemy! Everyone visits that site! If not, you better check out all the hard work that our very own James Newton and crew did.

Also, it's weird how Sony's patent is about half a year older than Nintendo's. Ah well, they'll probably capitalize on it once Nintendo is successful with their Wii U

Same thing that happened with motion controls. Coincidence? Blasphemy.

I'm not really surprised about this. But, what I found intriguing is who had the idea first? Nintendo must have started development of Wii U at least since 2009, Sony presented this patent on 2010 but they must have begun research in 2009 as well. Corporate spies are a reality and I found it to be an extreme coincidence that both companies had the same idea around the same time.-- Some Random Guy Who Had The First Comment On This Article On Push Square

I agree with this dude completely. Who did come out with this idea first? I think Nintendo did, because they actually presented it first, which means they've been working on it longer. If Sony came out with it earlier, they would have shown it at E3 2011 (along with the Vita).

Or Sony could just be waiting for Nintendo to release it and see if it is successful or not.

because sticking buttons on an iPad is a genius idea that no one could have though of without Nintendo.

Regardless of what the Nintendo fanboys would like to think, Nintendo wasn't being creative with Wii U.

What are you talking about? The Wii U is the most innovative thing ever!!

Bearing in mind that almost no idea is ever truly original and the existence of spies, this controller design is just that, a design; many designs never get off the drawing board even with a patent. On the other hand, if the Sony does incorporate a shameless copy of the Wii U controller into the PS4 with the knowledge that Wii U exists and doesn't try to improve on the design in any meaningful way, it will only further peoples opinions of them as devoid of creativity or innovation.

The only people who claim Sony isn't a creative or innovative company are the people that don't have a clue about technology design.

Everyone knows that Sony is going to use the Dualshock AGAIN for the PS4.

It's decent. It doesn't fit a person's hand right. Not like the marvelous GCN controller. And it doesn't add any creativity points.

Those who pass off the opinions of others as blind fanboy-ism can only be true fanboys themselves. Blind to the fact that some people have opinions that differ from their own with just as much merit. Just because you can claim to be a technology design expert does not, in fact, strengthen your opinion; nor does it prove other opinions wrong. As far as I, or anyone else can prove, you know as much as any standard opinion-giver. I can therefore come to the evidenced conclusion that you are the only "fanboy" who wishes to share his opinion. Your opinion is not discounted or wrong by any means, but your proclaimed superiority reveals your true outlook.
