A couple months ago I was disappointed to find out Dark Mist is not coming to America despite already being out in Japan and Europe for some time now. I then learned, much to my excitement, that the PS3 actually lets you open up accounts for each region! I was browsing each store like a kid in a candy shop when I found out the catch: You need to use a credit card with an address in the appropriate region.

Well, reading IGN's recent article on Japan-exclusive PS3 games, I noticed you can buy Playstation Network cards through PlayAsia! Hooray! I can't wait to download Cotton and Gunner Heaven and a bunch of others. It's too bad Final Fantasy VII doesn't have an English language option in the Japanese version.

Anyway, I would still rather get Dark Mist from the European shop so that it'll be in English, and probably some other games. Does anyone know of a place where I could buy a UK PSN card online? Or it could be any European country, I suppose, but UK would be best sense I speak English.

Also, any of you Europeans or Japanese-savvy PS3 owners have game recommendations? I need to get a list of games made out in advance so I know what amount exactly I should get on the card before I order it.

So far I'm thinking:
Cotton
Dark Mist
Gunner Heaven

Games I'm interested in but not sure about:
Einhander
R-Type Delta
G-Darius
Rakugaki Showtime
One of the Command and Conquer games (not sure if they were good on console)

If any of you are interested in US exclusives, I'm not sure if we even have any, really. But I've downloaded a lot of the games released here, so feel free to ask. I don't know of a PSN-centric site like VC-Reviews / WiiWare World, so I figured I'd bring this up here, hoping some of you like the PSN as much as I do, too.

Dang. That complicates things.
Thanks though! At least I can still get to Japan's shop, which is where most of the good stuff is anyway.

Does anyone know if Dark Mist is text-heavy? I wonder if getting the Japanese version is a good idea. I know they have an expansion for it, too.

You I do what I do when I do what I do.

Japan's PSN actually has quite a few shooters I've heard about from this site, so I'm glad I'll finally be able to try them out, as well as Dark Mist (Zelda-ish game) and Gunner's Heaven (Gunstar Heroes quasi-sequel). Now I just need to find out how many PSN cards I need to get everything I want!

Hmm... It looks like just about every game costs 600 yen. It's been a long time since I've checked currency exchange rates, but I thought 1 yen = 1 cent, roughly. Play-Asia sells cards at prices quite higher than that. 3000 Yen cards go for $50. 5000 Yen for $75. I don't know how worthwhile the deal is unless you know you are going to love whatever games you're planning to get. Gunner's Heaven looks awesome, and I've heard only good about Cotton, but I think I might wait in hopes of the price evening out someday, or (as long as we're wishing on shooting stars) a US release.
