I just hate that it FORCES you to stay online, not only that, no pausing at all. It worked perfectly in 4th gen. Ugh, WHY did they have to westernize this series? It didn't need this.

Wow, you’re right. It is kinda anti social... Compared to how alive the game is, with all of its incredible designed environments and ecosystem, the world(no pun intended) feels empty socially. That might be the reason I stopped playing and I don’t feel a reason to come back.
Not to diminish the MH series (because it’s fantastic), but looking back, my most fun memories are the moments where you pulled off something quite amazing or someone else did and you’re typing to each other like crazy, loling all the way till the end of the hunt.

Honestly it felt better when multiplayer and single player were completely separate. Each 'mode' had its own story and setup, with multiplayer obviously emphasizing itself by placing you in the same room as everyone else. Now the modes are so integrated that it's easy to forget that you're even in a room with other players. And god forbid anyone joins someone else's quest before they hop into a hunt. Still haven't gotten a peep out of a single person yet, not even a shoutout! Honestly this might ruin late game for me if i can't find people to hunt with. Grinding is way more fun with people who talk, otherwise it just kinda feels like i have extra palicoes.

So what were the stories of previous monster hunter games like? I remember 4 revolved entirely around the Magala’s and World was about Zorah Magdoras and the new world.

Aside from 4/4U and World, the games don't really have story. It's usually just "a monster appeared, go kill it."

So basically what Generations is.

When did y’all start playing in the franchise?

Eh, at least World has a story that's more than "Hey, this new monster show up, kill a bunch of other monsters before killing that one!"

I still prefer 4U's because of the mystery virus and then finding out the source hasn't died yet and all that.

I think I preferred 4’s story overall mostly because I found Gore Magala to be a more intimidating and fun to fight ‘antagonist’ than say Zorah or Nergi. Partially because I was never a big fan of those huge scale siege battles and Zorah’s fight is the most boring fight in World imo.

The pacing also just plopped over after you repel Zorah for the last and you retread the same ground while going on mostly boring hunts. It was a bit of a let down in terms of an end for him, compared to Gore who becomes Shagaru and you have a climactic and engaging fight against it.

Shagaru's intro scene was epic, too. lol
Anyways I don't consider Zorah to be the main antagonist, and if he is the final boss in village's low rank, then....ugh. I assumed it would be Nergi, or that zombie dragon I know nothing about. lol

I quit after Nergi, but I just found the ending to the two of them to be disappointing. I think the final ‘antagonist’ was some sort of laser anime dragon or whatever.

Eh, we'll see, I'm not that far right now. Think Diablos is next on my list, but yeah if Zorah is the final village battle, then wtf? The zombie dragon or Nergi would've been better...

Also do you mean the elders pretty much die super quickly in this? :/
EDIT: MH3 for me.

Not really, but I figured Vaal would be a more interesting fight than Zorah. lol
I haven't actually seen much of him or Xeno, so I'll eventually see what they're like.

Well I like weird, I dunno...it'll be a while though. As expected with World, I've been playing less and less of it...sighs

Got around to beating Nergi. Super easy except for that one attack that has a stupid hitbox and one-shots.

More MHW content coming next year. Including a big expansion in late 2019.

I stopped caring for this game, it's extremely boring. Couldn't even continue after encountering Diablos.

@Tsurii Wow, you really hate world..... As a "casual" I think it's perfectly fine. It does a lot of things better, some things worse than GU. Yeah, I get that it's thin on content, but as a casual I'd hardly even notice

TBH, I'd probably play World more than GU if it weren't for the broken coop making it a non-game to me (though between Smash and discovering TES:O I haven't touched MHGU in weeks )

World specifically, Generations Ultimate I still enjoy because it's actually fun. World just bores me to death, lol
